  2. Hi Chris, Seems I don’t automatically get a notification when someone replies! I’ve PM’d you the number. Terry
  3. Cracking amp and a price that makes you wanna do this face 🥴 Class A/B = proper tones!
  4. Well, a quick update - I've sorted the touch buzz on the Warman pickup. My mistake, I bunched together the main pickup ground with the ground of one of the coil ends instead of it going to "chassis" ground. Separated them then soldered the braid to the copper shield and that sorted it. Weirdly enough, there's touch buzz on the bridge pickup, but only when it's out of circuit (well, it's not truly out of circuit because it's still connected to the blend pot), which is pretty odd. No matter, I don't ever rest my thumb there so I'm not super concerned about that.
  5. Good deal. Glad your hand is healed. Good luck with your bass search! - Paul Austin, TX
  6. It will be fun to have a play about with these minor things, but I'm mostly looking forward to road testing it with the bands later this week! Sounding good in the cans, but it's not the same as having a thrash at war volume with a full band. I did fix the little gap in the logo, ultra fine Sharpie and a ruler, then more clearcoat on top. The rotten part is super low priority, but because it'll be nigh on impossible to fix it invisibly, you're right - I might as well make a feature of it instead. Cool ideas, had a few others, will mull it over.
  7. Just watching Radio 2 in the Park and the Anastasia bassist was playing a Ibanez Talman 5 String and also what looked like a Fender Vintera Mustang too … great to seeing a pro playing a £300 bass!
  8. Not as dramatic but I'm happy with the contrast 👍
  9. I'd forgotten the above went for £120 as just grabbed the following today for the same price, which I think is still OK. This GP12 SMX is probably my favourite trace head especially with the dual compressor. It used to be a combo but for presumably weight reasons was separated into a head (with home-made case) and the cab. Very very crackly pots but other than that seems to work. Will give it a good clean and then probably re-mount the head into my 4x10 combo (in my thumbnail) that currently has a GP7 head in it. Then strip everything out of the cab to go into a carpeted but empty TE combo case that I stripped the parts out for fixing something else. Will post pictures of the two amps once they are (re)done.
  10. Thinking black and chrome will tie it all in nicely with the large pole piece pickups and the chrome hardware. Anyway, they're ordered, so we'll see if I was right later in the week!
  11. Sometimes crime does pay.....! Don't ruin the NRT5.....it's not worth it. Put together another project guitar from scratch with a local builder. Keep the NRT as it is.
  12. In original box, with sticker and quick start guide £28 inc postage 48hr RoyalMail Pic to follow Plenty of threads about it for bass on here and on t'internet generally; useful stackable overdrive for guitar too; takes a PP3 9v battery if you want to use it stand alone or as part of portable battery powered rig rather than using with a power supply, usual 9v centre negative 2.1mm socket for use with power supply
  13. This! Make sure you enjoy it. So by all means do some exercises if you wish, but finish your practice by playing tunes you like.
  14. Folk that turn up to the local dive with 3k custom fenders and 8x10 cabs. Hate it. I absolutely love seeing top players or top bands sounding great using very much affordable gear. Seeing a bass playing a £300 yamaha bass that they;ve had for 20 years is something i love.
  15. Yes, I bought a MegaPara from them and all was good.
  16. I just did a little bit of jizz. I may have posted elsewhere, but there was one on the marketplace here a while back; I think it was advertised at £1,800. We were having some build work done and I simply couldn't pull the funds together at such short notice. I think about that bass every day. I've also recently been giving some consideration in getting a 12-string neck/bridge made for my Lull NRT5. That could be quite special.
  17. Jump For Joy - The Jacksons
  18. I’m giving it some serious thought!
  19. Decided to put up my awesome (and unfortunately no longer made) Spector LT5 in Violet Fade for sale. This has been my main touring bass for the last two years and has seen some action at Glastonbury, Green Man and many more festivals that I can't even remember! Despite being my main bass I have really looked after the bass and it's in excellent condition. No dings or dents just light surface scratches that every guitar gets from being played! The bass has a 3 piece maple neck with alder body wings and a very nice flamed maple top, which is almost holographic and almost impossible to photo! 😂 The bass has a very nice ebony fingerboard, MOP Spector crown inlays, Gotoh lightweight tuners, brass nut, Dunlop straplocks, Custom wound to Spector spec Bartolini pickups and Darkglass preamp, and thr finish is so good it's ridiculously reflective and shiny.. again making it difficult to take good photos! The bass plays very nicely and sounds phenomenal. The bass is 35" scale and the low B is the best I've experienced on a high end bass. Currently strung with Dunlop Super Bright Steels. Sale includes the Spector gig bag. Looking for £1800 due to excellent condition and I think collection is needed. I have the boxes it came in but I don't feel comfortable shipping it without a hardcase.

  20. I bought one last year. It very well built and did exactly what you would expect from a high / low pass filter. Highly recommended.
  21. Hi Woody I used it to beef up the harmonies for a trio with only me singing lead and fairly weak BV’s from the guitarist, worked well for that. That projects now long gone, so this is surplus to requirements, I haven’t replaced it with an alternative. Cheers Steve
  22. This is my MIK Spector Q4 pro, it’s in pretty much spotless condition, there are no marks I am aware of on this bass. I bought it from BassBros a while back and love it, however I have just purchased another (sadly, more expensive Spector ) so this has to go. It’s set up lovely, sounds just like a Spector should, it has the EMGHZ twin soap bar pickups and the EMG BTS circuit and this model has a non curved body. It’s a lovely bass. I do have packaging or collection or meet within 1hr drive of Milton Keynes. Any questions, just ask. Cheers Steve

  23. Hi Terry I’ve not had any issues in that respect, I know the original owner had an issue he didn’t like with the original preamp and so changed it to a Glockenlang which is still in it.
  24. Well, mine is beautiful. No gaps.
  25. Really glad that it’s not the bass after all, I was already stumped with what to replace it with while I was in Basil mode…
  26. Up for sale is this classic comp. In great working order with a few obligatory chips.
