  2. OP hasn't been back since day 1, so everyone is just screaming into the void.
  3. Was going to say the same, It’s obvious where the costs add up. I find it strange that stores tend to stock gear that’s more marketed at beginners. I’d classify myself as a beginner on guitar and hate the idea of having to try gear out in a store, showing everyone how inept I am. However I guess for more advanced players, you sort of know what you want and won’t have an issue buying unseen online as a result, resulting in no footfall for physical shops.
  4. A Boss CS-3 compression pedal. In good condition, with box and manual. Currently fitted with a Boss replacement base and velcro, but the original base is included. Collect for free from Chepstow, or I can post to UK addresses.

I went to Canterbury a few years back and had a look in the Hobgoblin shop. If I were to go there again I'd give the shop a miss.

  13. In my experience, once you reduce the volume on the bridge pickup, even by a little bit, it then has no further impact on the overall tone. What you're then hearing is just the neck pickup soloed, which is naturally a bassier sound. The front pickup is usually a lot louder than the rear pickup, as well. This may be due to it's placement on the body.
  14. Ah thanks so much for this! It’s pretty hard to get the word out about these cans all right. They’re pretty special. I’ve used mine with a Glockenklang Bass Art or a Glockenklang Blue Sky. They’re killer speakers. So balanced and articulate. They’re especially good for double bass. I mean I just think double bass is so hard to amplify. Most of the so called acoustic set-ups out there are pretty horrendous. I really loved the Bass Art and Accugroove set-up. Just have had to scale down. Having to use public transport a lot with double bass and amp these days so having the accurgroove and head bass heads is not working out. Thanks for your review of the Accugroove here anyway! Might help entice someone to buy.
  15. Not to hand but I recently got a mk2 and the DI out is definitely affected by the master volume
  16. I've known Eli for a good while now and we finally popped his BC feedback cherry here, he's a lovely genuine dude, pays exactly when he says he's going to, treat and trade with confidence folks, he's one of the good ones.

  17. I'm looking for the same thing in that London.
  18. I bought a second hand Squier Jazz bass with passive electronics and I have settled on setting the controls with the neck pickup at max, the bridge pickup down a quarter turn, and the tone down a quarter turn (or a bit more if I want a really mellow tone). What was interesting about this was that backing off the bridge pickup even a tiny bit really boosted the low end. I have been reading a bit about pickup impedance loading so I think I have an idea of what is going on, but this important bit is that I really like the overall tone with this setting. My other bass is a musicman 5 string with a nordstrand MM5.4 quad coil and a John East MMSR pre. It got me wondering what would happen if I added a small resistor to the bridge side of the musicman pickup, would a similar low end boost be achieved?
  19. That GOS track is beautifully put together. I love solo acoustic guitar (as opposed to acoustic guitar solos) but I won't hijack the thread.
  20. Today
  21. Bought a Barefaced One 10 from Andy. He's ace.
  22. Love the look of it, but oof that's a wide pickup spacing! It'd be interesting to hear what kind of tones it can produce. The only bass I have with anything like that sort of spacing is my Hofner, and they're famously rather specific tonewise.
  23. Working in the Coal Mine - Lee Dorsey
  24. Yes, strictly speaking “The MXR Custom Shop Script Phase 90”. Same circuit, just with LED and power jack.
  25. Pedal bought from Ashdown as I love their signature range - and It's Guy Pratt - who doesn't like guy Pratt ?? But apart from testing it it has sat unused in it's box. So lets find it a great home. Comes with all the "case candy" including the unused rubber feet. Note that it requires a good quality 18v power supply.

  26. I have been asked how much does this weigh - I thought it was quite light and according to my (never cost me anything in penalty fees on Ryan air) luggage scale it weighs in at 4.22 Kg
