Has anyone found a good one or two unit single channel compressor for bass? I think dbx used to do one but now they all seem to be stereo compressors targeted more towards PA applications.

One other thing worth mentioning is how the band presents itself. I tend to look at 'the competition' and look at how they come across on the various platforms. It's not always easy, but you often find that video posted by audience members is poor quality, might include bum notes etc, as an example. We suffer from that as well, and so we do try and have a good think about what we post and whether it represents us as a serious band. The same goes for the images we post. I don't mean you have to group together at a derelict industrial location and scowl into the camera, but consider the images you post to present yourselves as a professional outfit. I'm not putting us forward as any kind of yardstick (far from it) but it's a thought process that you might consider.

It's also, sadly, an incredibly boring song, predictably bland and dull Pivoting away from the makeup and interesting music around the third album and embracing radio metal possibly meant they sustained a career, but made for very uninspiring music The worst part seems to be that they didn't even "sell out" for monetary reasons, but because the singer and guitarist didn't like how much attention the bassist and drummer were getting. Steve at Hawker Repairs has done some really good work for me before, including a really complicated repair on my Dingwall after the strap button screw sheared off insite the top horn. Give him a call and see what he says. https://www.facebook.com/hawkerrepairs/ But yes, if you're ok with soldering, it shouldn't be a big job. Take the switch out, and put a picture up here and someone will be able advise what you need to buy.

Line 6 HX Stomp XL, selling due to downsizing my board. It's in great condition, one chip to the paintwork on the front that was there from new. You can see it on the photos beside the A switch. It's spent the majority of its time on a pedalboard in a protective case. It currently has some custom and purchased presets on it, but I can reset it back to factory if preferred. It comes with velcro on the back, the rubber feet are in the box. Located in Devon. Can meet in person if nearby, or buyer decides on/pays for postage. Here's my feedback thread:-

Walrus Audio Canvas Mono DI/LI. Selling due to downsizing my board. Great little pedal with with switchable pad, ground lift, and summing options. Adds a nice bit of colour too! The review says it all: comprehensive, US published and hard to find. Price is UK posted, unread condition. Now £16. Times And Seasons - The Rise and Fall and Rise of the Zombies Robin Platts HoZac Books, $31.99 356 pages Classic British pop, expertly chronicled Few books on the Zombies exist, but theirs is a story worth telling. And it's predictable that, given their Stateside star status, this quintessentially English quintet of She's Not There and Tell He No fame should be chronicled on an American imprint. The band only hung up its touring shoes last year after leader/keyboardist Rod Argent's stroke, but the work he and singer Colin Blunstone created after their reunion in 2001 - the years since 1968 being silent, in a Zombies sense - are also covered in detail by author Platts. The band always had a youthful camaraderie, having come together at high school, and that comes over faithfully in this account of their heyday - plus a long tail that details their subsequent musical careers. While Blunstone went solo and Argent created an eponymous prog band (of God Gave Rock And Roll To You fame), guitarist Paul Atkinson went behind the scenes and signed Abba to CBS - a feather in anyone's cap. Detail is forensic without being stifling. If the layout is a trifle fanzine-y, the integration of illustrative material like press cuttings and photos with the text helps make this an easy read. And the urge to play the music, always the sign of a good book, is irresistible. -

No that was the butterscotch one with a tort guard which went to @Bonin-in-the boneyard. This one is olympic white, black guard. Lovely, lovely bass but I already have a US Jazz and I need to cut down. -

Small "Hifi" amp head recommendations sought!

Hi again Andy, Just catching up to see if you've found 'your' amp yet and no I don't think you are being picky, you have identified your particular needs and are homing in on the best compromise. I think there may be a stumbling block though. The problem with micro amps in particular is heat. Class D amps are efficient but 200W is a lot of power and a lot of electricity still ends up as waste heat. Without a big case and lots of aluminium fins you really need forced air flow through the amp and you can't really lose the fan. I think this creates a problem if you want something to fit in a gig bag. You might need to be looking at amps with the quietest fan or one that only switches in when the amp starts to get too hot. -
TI flats live on my jazz and BB. They must be at least 5, maybe 10 years old now. One thing that makes a colossal difference to tone is keeping them clean, way more than any round wounds I’ve used in the past. A couple of wipe downs with fast fret with the cloth supplied and they zing back into life and feel much better. There might be a superior product to use but it works for me.
