Phil Starr Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Just had a great experience with Andertons, I bought a TC Helicon Critical Mass voice processor, it is supposed to make you sound like a group of people. I've been doing that with reverb and delay/detuning on my mixer but having a stomp switch was appealing. It doesn't sound as good as the mixer and is electrically noisy, not Andertons fault but I don't want it. Anyway I rang the shop and a really helpful guy immediately said: "not a problem was that the TC" quick and pleasant chat and the returns details were sent to me. He even advised me that it was cheaper to arrange my own courier than to use theirs. I've always felt we need to cherish the firms with real shops and good values before they all disappear and for me this was yet another good experience from Andertons. Full Marks from me 9 Quote
dave_bass5 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Andertons have become my first port of call (after Amazon) for music gear. Good prices and ive sent a few things back over time and it's always been smooth, quick and hassle free. One day I will go and visit them as they aren't too far. 3 Quote
Sean Posted August 11 Posted August 11 I've not been yet but have always had first class service on the phone from people who value your call and are a pleasure to deal with, unlike other retailers that I am forced to deal with. I've done a return to Andertons and it was easy and was refunded very quickly. They're aware of the expectations of punters and seem to match up to them. I have to collect a couple of my amps from The Amp Hospital up the road from there soon and will pop in as part of the same trip. The part ex service seems to look pretty decent too. The way things are going with the second-hand bass market, I think I might have to try it out. 2 Quote
SumOne Posted August 12 Posted August 12 I'm not saying Andertons aren't good, but if you buy pretty much anything online the shops legally need to let you easily return it for a refund within 14 days, defective or not - the buyer doesn't even need to provide a reason. "You must offer a refund to customers if they’ve told you within 14 days of receiving their goods that they want to cancel. They have another 14 days to return the goods once they’ve told you. You must refund the customer within 14 days of receiving the goods back. They do not have to provide a reason." https://www.gov.uk/accepting-returns-and-giving-refunds Quote
oliverK09 Posted August 12 Posted August 12 That’s exactly why I keep going back to them. Proper customer service is rare these days 2 Quote
Steve Browning Posted August 12 Posted August 12 I have only tested their customer service re a faulty item once, but it was dealt with immediately and without any quibble. Whether true or not, it always feels like you're dealing with a local store, even though they are online. The shop isn't far from me. Must visit the basement (bassment?) again soon. 1 Quote
itu Posted August 12 Posted August 12 The important word here is the service. We customers are buying a service which includes decent manners, and even a product. It's true like @SumOne said that it's legally a must, but not all companies are the same when buying, needing support, or returning items. @Phil Starr's experience is a great example how I would love to be treated. 2 Quote
police squad Posted August 13 Posted August 13 yep Andertons are great I've bought many times and when a bass developed a truss rod problem, they dealt with it superbly Currently have my Ampeg V4B on interest free (it was ex demo and a great £300 saving over new) Quote
DawnPatroller Posted August 13 Posted August 13 I rarely purchase elsewhere. That's how good Andertons are. My last purchase from them was a bass head and cab, they gave me loads of advice over the phone, and threw in some extra cables for free. 1 Quote
shoulderpet Posted yesterday at 18:49 Posted yesterday at 18:49 I've just taken delivery of a Mustang bass from them and there's a section of finish missing from part of the truss rod route, I thought about keeping it as it's a cosmetic blemish but every time I look at the bass it bugs me, especially on a brand new bass. Anyway I contacted them to request an exchange and they told me it's normal and within the manufacturers standards😡 I emailed them back and asked them to please arrange exchange or refund, fingers crossed but I am not impressed so far Quote
ProjeKtWEREWOLF Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I've made several smaller purchases from them in the past month. They've been quick, safely packaged and the price was good. I can't complain. Quote
BassAdder60 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Andertons are great however they don’t like too many returns as sometimes they end up as B stock items I have had my share of goods and returns and their service is awesome but be careful of sending too many items back as they do react after a while Quote
