Grahambythesea Posted Sunday at 15:19 Posted Sunday at 15:19 Been watching the YouTube footage of the Searchers final final gig. Frank Allen is playing a Jetglo Ricky, not hie usual 51 style P, but the machine heads look a very odd shape. They don’t look like cloverleaf. Is he playing a fake? Quote
Skybone Posted Sunday at 16:19 Posted Sunday at 16:19 They look a bit like the wavy Grover's they used on 4001's. Could it be an old 4001? 4 Quote

BlueMoon Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago They do look like Grovers from what we can see. Either Rotomatics and it’s a 4001 from mid 70’s or “Wavy” slimlines if the bass is a 4003. These were fitted around 1982 for a short while. Quote
Grahambythesea Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago Well, the things I didn’t know about Ricky’s! Thanks to all you backers 😆 1 Quote
Alba Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago The toaster nearer the neck, lack of checkered binding, full width inlays and what looks like a post 72 bridge (not to mention the crackerjack Grover's) suggest early 73 4001. Looks really nice nick whatever. 1 Quote
Hellzero Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Did anybody notice that the two photos are showing him playing exactly the same thing exactly the same way ... or maybe he always freezes in this position for photos? 1 Quote
