Grahambythesea Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Been watching the YouTube footage of the Searchers final final gig. Frank Allen is playing a Jetglo Ricky, not hie usual 51 style P, but the machine heads look a very odd shape. They don’t look like cloverleaf. Is he playing a fake? Quote
Skybone Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago They look a bit like the wavy Grover's they used on 4001's. Could it be an old 4001? 1 Quote

BlueMoon Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago They do look like Grovers from what we can see. Either Rotomatics and it’s a 4001 from mid 70’s or “Wavy” slimlines if the bass is a 4003. These were fitted around 1982 for a short while. Quote
Grahambythesea Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Well, the things I didn’t know about Ricky’s! Thanks to all you backers 😆 1 Quote
Alba Posted 39 minutes ago Posted 39 minutes ago The toaster nearer the neck, lack of checkered binding, full width inlays and what looks like a post 72 bridge (not to mention the crackerjack Grover's) suggest early 73 4001. Looks really nice nick whatever. 1 Quote
