I mean people are too busy eating anyway The trouble I have with this very sensible statement is that all my basses are different from the usual. I don't own a single Fender product right now. I can think of at least five off the top of my head that people have expressed an interest in seeing. I joke about being mad (the whole journey is mad anyway) but I'm not trying to take over the whole show, or use number of basses as some sort of weird flex (which would be pointless as I know there are plenty of people out there with more than me). If I'm overstepping, or anyone feels like I'm impinging upon their available space and/or enjoyment of the event please tell me so and I'll rein it in, I can handle a home truth if it is required. 2 Quote

Or, that people have "a Bass Bash car." When the date is announced, they travel to an undisclosed location and get an Exxon Valdez sized mode of transportation out of the side of a mountain to bring their collections. As the date draws near, these behemoths run aground outside the local hall where the pilots casually shrug off the devastation of the local landscape caused by crushing innumerable forests and small villages, by exiting and saying "Look!! A 1996 MIJ Precision!! It's good for metal!!" Newbie? Repeat after me “is it any good for metal? 🤷” youre supposed to be asking a question, not have fictional actors making statements get with the program …🧐 2 Quote

Just worried that you might be worrying about how to transport hem all, only to feel a little deflated if only a handful get all the attention. There's plenty of space, although you may need to squeeze up to create space for a latecomer. Quote
Pea Turgh Posted Sunday at 19:20 Posted Sunday at 19:20 I really hope I can make it. It sounds like it’s going to be so much fun! 1 Quote

I'd much rather that than have someone come up to me and go "hey, you've got X bass, don't you?" and I'm "ahh yeah, sorry, I left it at home - maybe next year, if I still own it by then!" I've already decided to rein things in slightly - I'm not going to take the extra 1x12 cab. Going to take the Markbass combo and the TC Electronic BH250 head as a headphones only amp - which might be handy if things get loud in the room anyway. 1 Quote

Neepheid my friend, I think you're suffering from a bout of what's known in medical circles as 'bass-bash angst'. Luckily this condition only flares up once a year and there's a simple cure: apple crumble administered by mouth. 3 Quote

( it's not a guitar show) At the last Midlands Bash we had a "No amps during lunch or the talks" rule which worked really well. A few folks brought headphone amps, so they got shared around a bit if I remember correctly. Edited Sunday at 20:25 by Richard R Typo Quote

Bring the lot and we'll work it out in Clapham. I think you had a Colt when you came down last time you came down, according to Google thats circa 850 litres of space, the Seat has close to double that plus the top box (if needed). Failing that I'll borrow an Land Rover from someone, though it may take us a bit longer to get there, actually a lot longer now I think about it Hold firm and steadfast. Rob 1 Quote

I think the Israelites had an easier time in the desert by quite a few days Yep, I've driven loads of Land Rovers as I used to work in a scrap yard and used to move stuff round in them and deliver stuff. Normal steering action was the steering wheel would move around 45 degrees from the vertical and you;d still be driving in a straight line. They were slow and used to break half shafts all the time, to such an extent, we used to carry them in the back. Now of course they are terribly desirable and go silly money, especially Series 1's (the headlights are inside the wheel arches). We'd have to set off now to get to Taunton by Oct 12th by my reckoning. Rob 1 Quote

Recirculating ball steering, 3/4" free play allowable at the MOT. Had a LDV camper (glorified Sherpa) with one, it was like steering a boat. On the motorway you'd gradually drift to teh right of your lane, correct and gradually drift left. There was no straight ahead, whatever you did or how well the wheels were aligned. 2 Quote

We'll be having 20 minutes per hour quiet time in the main hall starting on the half-hour to fit in with the 12.30pm lunch time. During those periods anyone wanting to play can either use headphones in the main hall or go through the practice amp that I'll set up in the smaller meeting room. 4 1 Quote
