Maybe if we all got neon cables the practical risk factor could be reduced to “acceptable”  ? You’d have to be a total guitard to trip over a neon cable

Interviews Thursday (a charity) and Friday (a serious company x 2 paying mega money)

obviously less competition for the former - but being security cleared makes things much less competitive anyway

apologies for the thread hijack

Off topic I know but is anybody in a band that could dep for us (In Like Flynn) at the Merriott Social Club TA16 5NP from 9 til 11 tomorrow night? Our singer seems to coming down with a bug that's started in her throat today. Fraid it's one of the first bookings we took when we launched the new band so not great money at £320.

If you can help, please PM me or call me on 07770 946135. If you want to see the kind of stuff we do visit inlikeflynnband.com and jump on our show reel.

Thanks,

Mike

It is beginning to dawn on me the enormity of the task that lies ahead of me.  14 basses (15 if I get my JC fixed in time), 2 amps, the ironmongery.  I know I keep saying "go big or go home" but is it getting silly?

Yes. Yes it is.

I’m late to the online virtual party, but I can confirm that I will be attending.
Mike - do you want payment up front as in previous years?

Very.

Pick 5 and one amp. You can bring a different set to the midlands bash in 2026. 🤪

I'll get the top box out. @neepheid can ride in that  and that's space for at least an amp and five basses saved.

I'll put a duvet and empty bottle in the top box so you are comfortable. Bluetooth to the car underneath will work so you can hear my music.

If you get too hot, open the lid a bit.

Job solved.

When I get back from London, I'll drop the back seat down and put my stuff in first and see how much space is left.

You are welcome to the glove compartment and that little cubby hole between the two front seats. Oh yes, and the top box 😊 let's not forget that.

With the back seats down, there's circa 1620 litres, top box is another 500 litres.

let's see how many I can get in and work from there.

There will be a good number of people with a few basses each. That's vastly more than most music shops, and I find I gravitate to just a few.

I've noticed that however many basses you bring, only one or two get attention. The rest get ignored by everyone except @stewblack who loves the obscure 😁

This year I might address my prejudices and try playing a g&l and a Ric, if there are any present.

I may bring my Amplug and headphones as well.
