I am also looking for two original knobs for my BB1200.

The closest I've found are these. Not exactly the same but quite close (and not too expensive):

Guys one question. In my Yamaha BB414, the tuner of the E string is bent (I bought it like that already). It works, but I would like to replace it. Since it must be difficult to find a similar tuner, which tuners are a direct replacement?

I concur - the Yamaha BB734A neck with the 40mm nut width is absolutely perfect for me, and I’ve tried quite a few basses over the years.

I replaced my Yamaha tuners with Hipshot HB1s which are significantly better at keeping the bass in tune.

Hi Guys

I have unfortunately developed a nickel allergy and need to change strings.

I play a P34, I have been using the stock strings.

I don’t like stainless rounds or coated, so I guess that leaves me with flats.

Can you guys recommend flats you’ve used to good success on a 424/434/734/P34

If you’re coming from roundwounds, you might like EB Cobalt Flats. Quite flexible and bright-sounding, I’ve had a set on a BB735A for two years and counting. 
 

Note: clean them properly with a string cleaner solution or isopropyl alcohol before installation, as they may have a sticky residue left from the manufacturing process.

When I was selling my 414 I put new strings on it and tweaked the set up. Gave it a quick test and it sounded brilliant. Unfortunately the new new owner was on his way round to collect it and it was too late to change my mind.

Few weeks later he had put it up for sale so I bought back again and it's been my first choice ever since.

Think the selector switch is key for me. 3 very usable tones at the flick of a switch and i do use all of them at a gig. I think my head was turned by a slimmer, racier model that is the precision.

I now see the beauty again in my fat derrière Yamaha's.
