Is anybody a fan and fancy taking this opportunity?
I am a fan but I can't say I've ever seen him playing that. Maybe it was in the period where I stopped watching them but I thought he'd given up on the doublenecks well before the guy says that was made. If I was interested in buying (not that I am) I think I'd want proof.
It might have been owned by Mike Rutherford, but I don't think it was used for anything worth mentioning...!
Like everything else Mike Rutherford has done :)

Didn't appear on Crimewatch a few years back saying o load of his guitars were stolen? I remember it distinctly because of my huge dislike for him.

Hmmmm,

Mr Sowder is being a naughty boy!

I happen to know EXACTLY where this guitar came from, and it certainly wasn't Mr Rutherford!

You may be interested to check this link out, also check the date and price!

Ah! Now I didn't flag it up because I thought there was anything underhand. I genuinely thought a MR fan might be interested (though I confess I thought the price was a bit rich) and I certainly wasn't aware of any previous eBay sale!

Sorry WH,

Wasn't insinuating you knew anything about it, apologies if it came across that way.

No could tell you were just posting an interesting item, I just happened to be watching this very item on EBay myself and couldn't believe my eyes when saw his post!

He's literally received it in the post and put it up for sale, the cheek of some people!

Cheers,

Bri.

Mike R has used double-necked Shergold, Status and Ibanez instruments in his time... I cannot imagine for the life of me that he would have chosen this crude and fugly piece of firewood over that lot! :)

No sweat Bri, I didn't think you were insinuating anything.

It's just an odd twist of fate that an item I thought was a bit over priced and 'maybe' of some interest to a bass playing Genesis fan, turns out to be a quick money maker for a bassist who appears to be economical with the truth. :)

That's what I was wondering, in the advert he was offering for people to call around and try the bass, wouldn't people think it odd if they did and he wasn't there, just his wife ?.

Is it possible that he misread the ebay advert, and thought that it actually belonged to Mike Rutherford ?.
