I had a Limelight previously, and always regretted moving it on. Obvious choice....get another Limelight. I went for something a bit different. Purple body, with a gold anodised pickguard. Heavy relic'd maple neck in jazz spec sizing.. Action is perfect for me. Low, but not low enough to have any fretbuzz, and high enough so i can change the tone, if i should want to. Sounds louder than any of my other basses unplugged, but that could be the new strings.... Anyway, i have high hopes for the bass having owned, and been impressed by Limelights before. Hard to comment on the finish for obvious reasons! But it looks great to me. Does it look authentic?? I don't think i can say it does because there probably wasn't many purple Fenders in the 70's. But does it look old? Yes. It really looks like a bass that has been well played. Neck feels great. Really "worn in". Well balanced bass too. Not sure how much it weighs, but it feels fine for me. The good balance probably helps this. Look forward to giving it a blast with the band! Special mention for Mark, owner of Limelight. He was brilliant throughout.
