Lozz196
Definitely. I`d rather check and find it was in tune, than the other way round.
Lfalex v1.1
Got an SVP preamp for that :-)
This. And if you want pedals, Taurus is the way to go
GremlinAndy
Do us Bassists really need pedals?
Need. No Enjoy. Yes, quite possibly
GremlinAndy
I've not used a clip on tuner so I don't know about it's multitude of practical shortcomings, but I would imagine it makes your bass look less cool
I wouldn't be seen dead with a clip on tuner. I'd rather be out of tune by a full tone (whatever the heck a tone is!) for a full gig than have one of those ass ugly things sticking out of my base. Kiwi
I ended up getting pedals for patches that sucked up all the processing power in my MPXG2 or stuff my MPXG2 couldn't do. eg. unibass, synthbass and two inputs (EBS Microbass).
tauzero
Must be honest, I'm surprised that of the 40,000 bassists on here, 39,999 aren't aware of tuners that are neither pedals, rackmounts, nor clip-ons.
pendingrequests
I've never seen the need for them, obviously about from a tuner and maybe a EQ pedal. I use my EQ sparingly when I plug into house gear to get as close to my sound as possible. The day I get endorsed and start touring the world, I may buy another pedal
EdwardHimself
I've never had a massive need for loads of bass effects. I just like a bit of overdrive and maybe some compression if required but that is only usually on recordings. One of my friends recently spent several hundred pounds on effects for that "dubstep" sound, and he is still using his crappy clip-on tuner! I don't know eh? matejj53
Having effect does not mean you necessary use it all the time. It allows you to play more dynamic having better sound creates effect of whole band. That is why you use effect. It is like changing strings some people do like it some do not until they broke..... So there is no right no wrong question and judgin is wrong
