1.
the only amp I will NEVER sell is my CTM300. It's the most amazing head I've ever used and the tone is sublime, I can get everything I want from that head tonally and it doesn't freak live and studio engineers out by having no DI! Surprised that not all your artists use the CTM, I appreciate Sir Paul's back might break lugging it about but it's without doubt the best amp tonally I've ever used.
I second all of this! I love the CTM 300 to pieces and cannot wait to let it roar with my new band once we get gigging. Just need to get my flightcase sorted for it and find a way of getting it in the car alongside the ABM 610... Which should get a priority seat; my CTM or my girlfriend?
2. I have been led to believe by Mark (the owner of Ashdown) that they do not actually endorse bands the same way that other manufacturers do; everybody who plays Ashdown (where it isn't already at the venue/gig etc.) has had to pay for it. They may offer some form of discount for artists, but there is still a pricetag that needs to be paid. Ashdown do 'loan' stuff out for gigs and to bands (see the B-Stock sales they have done in the past)
3. Ashdown have quite the following (John Entwistle, Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Arctic Monkeys, Black Stone Cherry, Buckcherry, Paul McCartney and Paramore to name a few of their highest hitters with other 'big pop acts' using them such as Rizzle Kicks who get to play festivals etc as they are on Radio 1 a lot). Although many people will not see these guys as 'the best of the best' in the world, they are all touring (other than The Ox obviously) and playing festivals all over the world. The OP is regarding the Isle of Wight Festival, which had Ashdown artists on the main bill. The fact that this festival is in the UK helps as they are a UK company and have been known to provide backline for their artists at these kind of events. You would have noticed the same at Download this year and will notice it again at Glastonbury. throwoff did hit a point of the price not being high (although tell that to my bank account after the funds for my CTM were whisked off!) but the sound is great (IMO of course). Sure, there are better sounding amps, but not in the same price bracket or available 'off the shelf.' At the end of the day, these bands get to pick and choose what they use from pretty much any 'big name' in amplification and they choose Ashdown
4. This is as you state, very funky! Is the backing track available at all?

I bought some patch cables off Luke. Pleasure to deal with and everything was well packed. Would recommend him to anybody on here
6. Delay should probably be on that list as well... Ring mods are usually a bit different, as are some low pass filters (although possibly too close to envelope filters to count
7. The finish on that bass is truly a wonder to behold. Love how the Danish oil brought the grain to life and added so much depth and character. Have you detailed how you apply it in any of your other threads? I would love to know how you get it so even doing the back and then the front without getting drips soaking over the edge. Again, a beautiful instrument
8. I find the Marvel Straplocks are really good. You can pick them up on ebay and Amazon easily and all you need is a dab of Loctite (or to remember to tighten the thumbscrew up) and you are good to go
9. Get it through bassdirect.co.uk and you don't need to worry about import fees
10. Is it present with the EQ disengaged as well?
11. Thanks for the recommendations guys. I ended up booking my bass in with Martin and George Thomas in Banbury as they said that from the sounds of what I need done, a morning would be ample time. Hopefully they are right!
12. Does anybody know of any good DB luthiers around Portsmouth, Southampton or Winchester? I'm looking to get a setup done on a bass I bought recently (my first!) and have been given recommendatioms for people in Surrey and Oxfordshire but unless they can do it 'as I wait' (so to speak) I would have to take 2 days off work in order to drop it off and collect it. Thanks guys
13. I bought a Musima Double Bass from Andrés and the whole transaction was a pleasure. Great communication, the bass was exactly as described. I would buy from him or sell to him in a heartbeat. Great seller.
14. In some of the clips in their official video, he is playing a Fender Starcaster bass... Not quite as budget These guys are supposed to be really good live
15. I think there are a couple of shops in Brighton that can stock these or certainly order one in. I have tried the Ampeg 610 and found it was very dark sounding compared to the ABM
16. My ABM 610 is the best cab I have ever played through. Sounds awesome with my ABM 900 and CTM 300. Still a pain to move around, but not as bad as an 810. Really tight sounding cab which really seems to bring the best out in my heads
17. Little Monday morning BUMP for a pedal that looks like it may be staying for the time being. Make me an offer if you want to give a little, pink, sparkly box of joy a good home!
18. Still here BUMP! May be intersted in a trade! Not really looking for any kind distortion unless it is a heavily gated, synthy kind of fuzz. Pretty much anything else would be considered
19. Monday morning BUMP for a sparkly pink grit box!
20. BUMP for one pedal left! £90 posted for the Phat Phuk B Great little pedal and a nice sparkly pink enclosure to boot!
21. Sold an Aphex Bass Xciter to Dan. Very fast response to the sale thread going up and very fast payment. A pleasure to deal with and excellent communication. Top chap
22. Sold a BBE Opto Stomp pedal to Pablo. Very fast payment and excellent communication. Top chap to deal with! Would recommend in a heartbeat
23.
Four hours? Wimps! You could do that on a bicycle ...
Not with that bass on the way back I couldn't!
