1. BUMP for anybody interested? Had a couple of nibbles but still here!
2.
Yes, in fact at low gain would say this pedal suits that style more than all those others you listed!
My wallet hates you right now!! Does anybody know what the deal is with orduring these at the moment? Still only the limited edition one available?
3. I am really tempted to get one of these but all my current dirt boxes (Fuzzrocious GS+, Way Huge Pork Loin, Ashdown Drive Plus, Ashdown Hyperdrive and MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe) aren't getting enough love as it is... None of those cover the ground that this little beasty does though. Does pop-punk warrant really grindy distortion?
4. BUMP for the Wren and Cuff PPB still being here! Make me an offer; the worst I can do is say no. All trades considered other than distortion/fuzz/overdrive as I have far too many...unless is it something particularly weird and wonderful!
5. Which amp are you using? The ABM NEO 400 in your 'Interests' section? And what bass are you playing? How have you got the EQ set?
6. Well I did the deed and wired the rotary to be 2 position (I sourced rotary switches where you can insert a small pin to limit the number of positions from 12 down to 2) with series / parallel and it works a treat! Finding a DPDT switch would have been preferred, but I could not find one which was large enough to take up the hole in the plate, let alone one in black to match the rest of the hardware!
7. Okay, I've decided to do away with the neck only and bridge only options, so now the rotary will only go between series and parallel with the pots wired to be VVT... Can anybody see why this would be complicated to wire? And can anybody hook me up with a diagram?
8. The main 'problem' (if indeed you can really consider it as such) is that I have a 4 hole control plate but the jack is already mounted to bottom edge of the body, so a conventional VVT setup would leave me with an empty hole. So I thought a pickup selector switch would be a good way of filling it with something that actually had a purpose. I am now considering having Volume-Blend-Tone setup with a toggle or series/parallel instead... Still not sure which way to go though
9. Thanks for the input guys! I think I have this figured out now but won't really know until I get it all wired up
10. Hi guys, I did a search and saw that what I am asking was possible but could not find the details I am in need of so.... I am currently building a bass with twin J pickups and originally intended to wire it like a standard Jazz... But, after a bit of thinking, I decided to try and go a bit mad wiring wise and could do with a little help from the BC gurus! What I am looking to do is have the standard VVT controls AND a four position rotary switch with Neck only, both parallel, both series, Bridge only. Has anybody on here wired a bass this way? And/or does anybody have a wiring diagram for this setup? Thank you guys!
11. I just scored a May 2003 OC-2 off eBay! :-) Been wanting one for ages and nkw finally have one. My serial is LR01244
12.
...up until recently he played Fender American Deluxe Jazz basses with the bottom horn sanded down quite considerably...
That was his Custom Shop Jazz. They basically removed the lower horn, giving it more of a Jaguar style lower bout and moved the neck and bridge so that the headstock was further away from the body. I think the only other 'non-standard' bit was a block inlay at the 12th fret with dots everywhere else
13. Bought an Ashdown Lomenzo Hyperdrive off Phil recently. Great guy to deal with, good communication and the pedal was packed incredibly well. Would recommend him in a heartbeat.
I used to love mine, and was more than happy to suffer the pain of moving it, and the deafness after gigs - hey, you're indestructible when you're 25...nowadays one would be uttely pointless with my tinnitus as I couldn't really turn it up much, and since I moved to in-ears I wouldn't go back anyway - being able to hear yourself properly is a new and addictive experience.
Don't listen! It's a trap! :hide:

I love my 810 and 610 cabs... I can see the advantage of the lightweight gear (and did start looking into getting a lightweight 'backup') but my favourite setup will always by my Ashdown CTM 300 through a big cab But I am only 21 so got a few years of lugging this about yet! Even though my chiropractor already says that my back is on the way out!
16. Bought a Dimarzio Model P/J set from Simon. Great communication and well packaged. Posted very quickly. Would certainly recommend him to anybody looking to buy something. Also seems very friendly! Top seller on here
17.
What is Bitsbox like for delivery times and reliability?
I ordered the jack plugs in Sunday Morning and they arrived on Tuesday so can't fault delivery time! This is my first purchase from them but my father has used them for a couple of years for odd bits here and there (probably about 50 orders over the last 2 years) and I think they have only 'messed up' once when they sent the wrong size of something and were happy to exchange it
18. Might be worth posting each days scale here for everybody? Good luck!
19. Thanks for that chrismuzz! Considering the price, I may just get a set of each for a 'shootout' and see what sticks in this bass Very interested in the P style pickups as well as my next build is a PJ. Do Enwhistle ever do MM style pickups?
20. Can anybody comment on the difference in sound between the ceramic and Neo versions of each of these pickups? Really interested to try these in my current Jazz bass build as I am already trying out a set of Dimarzio Ultra Jazz and a set of SD Quarter Pounders once it is finished
21.
Yup Lee ;-)
Looks like this guy is being handled by Ashdown's finest then!
22.
Hey Kevin, Yes it seems as though a sleeved version was sent instead of the standard rack one doh. This is easily rectified though as once out of the sleeve its the same head it just needs a lid and rack ears which we do as a kit. I can get a kit sent to you asap and its a very simple 10 min job to convert it then you should be sorted. As an apology for the hassle I would like to send you an Ashdown T shirt and a free Dr Green or Ashdown FX pedal of your choice... Let me know if this is ok and apologies once again, gremlins in the warehouse!
Curious to know who this is... I'm guessing either Lee or Dan... Leaning slightly more towards Lee Great guys at Ashdown!
23. I started looking into going for Lava plugs or George L's for the small form factor. I then found a guy on here selling some patch leads already made up with the 'pancake style' plugs and Van Damme cable so opted for those instead. I have no decided to replace the rest of my patch leads with the same, so bought a loads of the plugs for somethings like 89p each from Bitsbox and a few metres of Van Damme cable from evilBay for less than a fiver and will be setting about soldering them up in the near future! Don't do what I did and get caught purchasing the premade cables with the pancake plugs that are on eBay; the sum of the parts is far less than you will pay for these premade ones
