1. If this wasn't so far away from me (about 4 hours drive) I would snap this up! Good luck with the sale!
2. Selling off a few pedals that just aren't being used at the moment so that they might be enjoyed by others! Wren and Cuff Phat Phuk B -[s]£90 posted[/s] [s]now £80 posted[/s] SOLD Great little germanium based boost/OD which gets plenty of love on here and on Talkbass (sorry if that is a dirty word around these parts!). Does a great job as both a clean boost if you turn the gain of the trimpot down and as a dirty boost to either add a bit of hair or go all out overdrive if you crank it. Lots of volume on tap just from the knob on the front. The internal trimpot is currently set as it was at the factory. I had to replace the pot in this as the shaft on the old one got damaged. The new pot has a slightly smaller shaft, so the knob spins slightly off centre but is solid. Also, there is a pop when it is engaged and disengaged; from what I have read, this is quite common with these pedals. This hasn't seen much use and certainly no abuse. There is hook velcro on the back of the pedal cut so that the serial number can still be seen on the base. The original box, rubber feet and instructions as well as the (now out of date) warranty sheet are included. Really nice subtle compressor that doesn't colour your tone and you sort of forget is there. It has hardly been used. It stayed on my board for a couple of gigs and practices but was only stepped on once or twice I believe and was just left switched on from the previous time. There is no velcro on this as I couldn't get any to stick to the rubber but didn't want to take it off so it is in pretty much original condition. The original box and instructions are included. Aphex Bass Xciter - [s]£55 posted[/s] SOLD Once again, this has hardly been used. I don't think these are available in any form now following a couple of different versions. This is the latest version, not the 'Purple Box' version that got a great reputation. As far as I know, the only thing that changed was the box. The info on the website sums up what it can do: ''Designed for musicians to easily dial in attack, spaciousness, depth and detail, the Xciter breathes life into your tone by enhancing musical harmonics. Presence is increased creating the feeling of a wider, more spacious sound. Bass frequencies are richer, deeper and more articulate and the emotional impact of your instrument's tone and your other pedals are highlighted. The Xciter pedal brings out the character and nuance of your guitar or bass without adding volume and distortion. So whatever you play, the Xciter pedal's controls will allow you to get the best tone out of your instrument. And Aphex's extreme die-cast structural design and materials will let you focus on your playing, not your pedal.

Increased Presence and Clarity
Greater Perceived Loudness
Improved Detail
Deeper, More Resonant Bass
Little or No Increase in Peak Output
Tighter Bass Articulation
Extended Low Frequencies''
Original box, rubber feet, velcro and instructions are all included. Drop me a PM and I shall get back to you as quickly as I can
3. I have one on my custom build. Works a treat. Nice and simple, easily adjusted. Ticks all the boxes for me!
4. The ABM 610 is a great cab. I actually prefer it to my ABM 810... Sounds much tighter to me. The difference in weight isn't that considerable; this is still a heavy cabinet, but the castors and pull bar make it pretty easy to move around. The smaller form factor is useful though as it will fit easily in a small car with the back seats down (I move mine around in 1999 Ford Fiesta and it fits perfectly alongside the rest of my gear) and can be lifted easily by two people thanks to the side handles and pull bar Hope this helps
5. The BF-2 is a great pedal. It seems to be quite common that it has a 'noisy' filter though, so you can here the sweep when you are not playing. Just a heads up Enjoy!
6. You will want to be very careful with that Laney cab and a CTM 300. The CTM puts our a huge amount of low end and will toast the drivers in that cab very quickly if you aren't suuuuuper careful! The Ashdown CL series cabs (particularly the 610 and 412) sounds amazing with the CTM. I currently use an ABM610 and it still sounds the mutt's nuts!
7. I saw Ashdown post a picture of one of these a couple of months ago on their facebook page and have been interested ever since. I have to keep reminding myself that I already have enough amps (5 Ashdown amps and several of their cabinets) and don't need a tube practice amp... But is is awfully cute and if I could get it in chrome to match my CTM300 then I fear I would admit defeat and phone Ashdown straight away
8. I found out about this band when I saw The Cat Empire on their last UK tour (on which these videos were shot) and was amazed to see a banjolele being played! They are well worth checking out as their music is fantastic and the lyrics are an amazing mix of humour and the slightly macabre http://youtu.be/FwHJuIswYQs
9. I've got the Ashdown ABM 610 and think it is a brilliant cab. Plenty of volume when matched with my ABM 900 or CTM 300 heads, pretty easy to move around and fits in my car easily
10. I found that the goo did an excellent job of blocking everything out! I had mine done at the London Bass Guitat Show a couple of years ago and I noticed that while the goo was in and setting, the attenuation was actually pretty good and didn't muffle low end too much (i.e. I could still hear everybody clearly slapping away in a tiny exhibition centre) I love my ACS moulded plugs, they are one of the best investments I have ever made in my music setup
11. Unless you have your heart set on a rig of some description, you could look into in-ear monitors in order to hear yourself? They would be easier to transport and just allow you to hear what is going to the FOH
12.
So two ABM410s will be better than two mag410 deeps? T
Possibly. Its all very subjective. If you are already using mismatched cabs (410 and 115), the two 410s will be an improvement on volume and tone. I would go with the mismatched 410s for now and if you get a chance to try a matched pair, try it and see if you can tell the difference. Then try the other matched pair and see which you prefer. You just have to try these things as everything is in the eye (or eat) of the beholder
13. I got mine at the London Bass Guitar Show a couple of years ago and when I expressed an interest in the PRO 20s, the guy on the stand recommended the PRO 17s instead based on the idea that the 20s have a less linear attentuation. The 17s provide plenty of attenuation for me and I have worn them when both performing in and observing pretty loud situations. Hope that helps
14. I have the ACS PRO 17 moulded plugs (the £140 set) and I cannot recommend them enough. I'm afraid that I cannot say anything about the T3s, but if all you want is protection, the ACS PRO range is fantastic.
15. Hi, I have the ABM 900 EVO III and have previously used it with the MAG 410T Deep. I used to gig with this setup, and as I am sure you are aware, it is a pretty good pairing. Two of these cabs would just get you more volume and allow you to get one into a higher position to hear yourself a bit better (assuming you are stacking them). I also have the ABM 810 and ABM 610 cabs. My 610 is MDF and the 810 is ply. Both of my ABM cabs sound better than the MAG cab, with the 610 sounding the best overall. I have not tried the ABM 410 enough to be able to give a clear comparision of it against the MAG 410, but it is a nice sounding cab. I would image that it is a bit sturdier and probably a bit better sounding than the MAG. However, a lot of people will say that if you have multiple cabs, it is best to get the same cabs so that they match sonically. If they are for the same price, I personally would go for the ABM, unless you want your cabs to match sonically and aesthetically.
16. I'm fairly certain the the CTM 100 and 300 are all valve... Not sure about the 30, although the LB30 was all valve IIRC and the CTM 30 is just a new face on the LB 30
17.
This has got me very interested in the MiBass 2.0, although I might hang fire to see what they announce at NAMM first.
Likewise... Very interested to see what will appear at NAMM. The MiBass and the Drophead 15 are on my watch list for now
18. The CTM 15 is said to be a little 'treble heavy' and clanky sounding. I have not tried the CTM 15 myself but I have the CTM 300 which can do trebley and clanky but also beautifully round and full sounding. The clanky sound may just be the nature of the CTM 15 though. I believe walbassist got to play with the CTM 15 quite a lot so he may be an authority on this little amp
19. The Line6 G series wireless are great units. Worth paying for the quality with a wireless system as it is less likely to be plagued by the usual interference ascociated with wireless gear. Also, some of the cheaper ones are no longer legal (of course these are not likely to be available from shops) as the laws on which bands can be broadcast / transmitted on changed in the last couple of years
20.
Based on looks...
An amp isn't just to look nice at the back of the stage... If it sounds great to you and looks the part, brilliant, but unless your band or audience are listening with their eyes, go with what sounds best to you and with your band. And just a heads up, you will likely get a lot of people saying that having 2 single speaker combo amps under 50 Watts is still not going to cut it with a band without some pretty good PA support.
21. The weight difference is quite large. Could you weigh it? I have a brass one that I can also weigh to compare it to?
22. Roughly how much adjustment is there in the string spacing? The main measurement I am interested in is how tight the two outermost saddles can get
23. I really wish that this would sell! It has been tempting me for far too long! Good luck with the sale bud!
