I would say contact Ashdown about it as there customer service is normally excellent. It sounds like it could be a valve or dirty input to me. Does it stop when the valve drive is disengaged?
-
I still think the GORM from IKEA is a good foundation for a pedalboard, then if you need the added protection of a hardcase, just get a flightcase made to fit it... Or reverse the order and get a cheap flightcase then build a board to fit it!
-
There are loads of people about making wooden pedalboards (some from plain old pine, others using exotic timbers) at prices just as high if not higher than the Pedaltrain boards
-
The other option is look into a board with a separate case like the Pedaltrain boards, as they don't have an edge to them like yours
-
Quite a few pedalboards of this type have a similar problem... I used get around it by just attaching a bit of velcro to either side of little bit of wood to put under the first and last pedals in the chain so you can have your input or output slightly higher. The other option is to make a mini -patchbay kinda thing which features input, output and a send/return setup, so your input and output are in one place and everything is in a loop. This way, you can have the input and output wherever you want and even include a bypass switch on the patchbay for if your power dies or something. Hope that helps!

I have followed this thread silently since you started it and I now have to chime in and say that this is everything that a bass cab should be! Massively over the top and trouser-leg-flappingly awesome! What date is your show at the Underworld?
I want one for my bitsa build...
I think Allparts do one?

If you find a pair, give me a shout It looks like these are long gone though I found some discussions about it from 2009 on other forums
-
I don't mean to alarm anyone, but this was available in red as well... The metallic teal is much nicer though
-
Oh god... I want one! As long as it has a satin finish neck...
-
I've never had a problem from them and I've had hardware and pickups from them several times. As the others have said, you are at the mercy of customs and postage times though

Go With The Flow - Queens of the Stone Age is a personal favourite of mine. Since joining a Ska band, I find I keep playing Nite Klub - The Specials and Mirror in the Bathroom - The Beat. Just such fun, relatively simple lines to play

Something like a T-Rex FuelTank Junior would give you isolated outputs (lowering the chance of unwanted buzz or hum creeping in) in a pretty small package. It has 5 outputs, so you can run 5 pedals if you want to expand your current setup. Alternatively, you could look at getting something like a Visual Sound 1 Spot which is a daisy chain. Lots of people say they have used them and run noise free, others have had issues. Both rely on having access to a mains socket. The Pedaltrain Volto is a rechargeable unit which can be used to power a few pedals. Does rely on remembering to charge it though! Hope that helps a little.

The bass you posted looks to me like it has just had a clearcoat applied over the bare wood. It may have had some grain filling, but it looks like a nice natural finish in the purest sense of the term

This is not helping me not want an Aerodyne. Great bass man, looks sweet

Hi guys, I have been asked t learn this song and have given it a go by listening to the track, but was just wondering if anybody had any sheet music or tab for it? I can't find any chord sheets or anything for it online and was just hoping somebody had some advice with this song. Thanks a lot!

NOW SOLD FS/FT Ashdown CTM 300 ALL VALVE HEAD NOW SOLD
BruceBass3901 replied to JamesBass's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Can't believe that somebody would want to part with one of these! I love mine to pieces...great, great amp with bags of tone! Good luck with the sale One quick question though, I noticed that you have all 6 tubes running a little on the cold side... Is there a particular reason for this? Or have they just drifted that way as it has been used? -
Oops - how did I miss that? Cheers Bruce. So what does it' 'nice tone' sound like - trademark Ashdown sound or what?
Sounded like an Ashdown to me, which in my books is a good thing! It sounded quite similar to my Ashdown Tourbus when I played at the show, but that was cranked to compete with all the slapping etc. It could get the volume though and it wasn't farting out at all. Would love to try one in a more controlled environment to get a better idea of what it can do.
So has anyone from BC actually had a go on a B Social?

Also, I got to try the B-Social at the LBGS this weekend and can say that I was suitably impressed by it. Nice tone, quite a lot of volume and just generally a very nice unit. Most importantly, got to speak properly with the Ashdown boys about all their new kit and was very glad I did so!

I think I am right in saying that Nate is still using Ashdown for his work with Foo Fighters but is using the Verellen for his other project 'Lieutenant.' He was using the Meatsmoke with Sunny Day Real Estate through an ABM810 back in 2009 as well.
Right, just for reference, I have been set straight on this now! Nate hasn't used the Meatsmoke to record with AT ALL! Can't explain why it is in a couple of pics with him... 'Lieutenant' is Ashdown powered just like his stuff with Foos. Also, I got to try the B-Social at the LBGS this weekend and can say that I was suitably impressed by it. Nice tone, quite a lot of volume and just generally a very nice unit. Most importantly, got to speak properly with the Ashdown boys about all their new kit and was very glad I did so!

London Bass Guitar Show - 7 & 8 March 2015
BruceBass3901 replied to bassguitarshow's topic in Events
I've opted to get the train from Twickenham as parking for the day there is £4 and the train fare will be about £14 for my girlfriend and I...much better than trying to deal with the Olympia parking area -
Thanks for the advice there Marc. I had been keeping an eye in the classifeids for some strings to try and will continue to do so! And I am all too aware of the dangers of releasing all the tension on a double bass... luckily I know I am safe to do so on my bass as when a luthier needed to re-shape the bridge feet he looked at the soundpost and found that it was nicely wedged in place and would not move easily. I will still be careful when I put these new strings on though. Thanks for your help everybody I shall report back once my new strings arrive and I am slapping away

I must remember to meet up with people this year! Got swept along in the crowds last time I attended and didn't the chance -
Thanks Rev. I shall be ordering a set once I get paid this month. Now I just need to get my bridge converted to be adjustable and I will be well away!
