  1. Sven Pipien was using this bass for one song last night (he used a Jazz for the rest) and it looked and sounded gorgeous. Forgive my 💩 photo, but does anyone know what it is? It had a jazz pup at the bridge and an old style P / T one at the neck. He played through a couple of Aguilar heads and they sounded brilliant all night. Venue was The Garage in Glasgow.
  2. I think there’s a Roland Cube in the classified section here.
  3. This https://m.thomann.de/gb/ebs_classic_session_60_combo.htm?o=13&search=1542398351 or this https://m.thomann.de/gb/fender_rumble_100.htm?o=19&search=1542398351 or this https://m.thomann.de/gb/tc_electronic_bg250_112.htm?o=50&search=1542398351 etc...
  4. I’m so sad I didn’t buy one from Kenny’s when I didn’t. It was almost in reach too but the last one went when I was about to hit the button.
  5. How does that work? Do you just create any old track and post away?
  6. GRETA VAN FLEET. Debut album, Anthem of the Peaceful Army. It’s great. Can’t wait to see them again in March on the back of this.
  7. Quarter-sawn means that the wood mill has cut the tree in to planks. The quarter sawn part (or section) gives more inherent stability due to the direction the grain pattern runs in the neck. There should be less warp, cupping, twisting, etc... over years or even when temperature and humidity change. There may even be some benefit to structural integrity. However, every tree is different and even quarter dawn parts from the same tree can be different. It’s up to the timber specialist within the companies such as Fender to source the best quarter sawn bits and pieces for their best instruments. If I remember rightly Warmoth have an explanation and you can see the difference in cost of necks there
  8. I have now subscribed. Thanks very much for the heads up.
  9. Brilliant. I’ll have a look later. For bass I don’t need fx when recording a track but laying an electric guitar down I think it’ll be more useful, to get the feel of what I’m playing at the time. No idea why my bass track is muting when I turn on the fx for playback.
  10. Thanks, I’ll have a look at the levels, though I’m sure they are ok.
  11. Hi. Complete newby to recording here. Just have my kit set up and have recorded a quick four track. On my bass track I can’t hear any playback when I have FX turned on but it’s there when FX turned off. (Helian bass) On my other tracks I can’t hear the FX when recording the track but they are all there when I play back. Confused! Not for the last time either. Any suggestions?
  12. Well, that’s me sort of set up with my first ever home recording studio. I still need a desk to put it on but here’s what I have so far. PC- Dell 16gb ram, quad core i5. Interface- Roland Rubix 24 DAW- Reaper Monitors- Prosonus Eris e4.5 Just starting out and only today worked out that I need different cables for connecting my speakers to my audio interface. I had assumed that normal instrument cables were used! So, waiting on these coming tomorrow. Hosa HSS-003X2 REAN Neutrik Connection Cable (4 x 6.3mm Jacks / 90 cm / Price for Pair) Silver https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B006BLD34C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_xg4XBbMW2HAFC Cheers!
  13. Result!! I wonder what it would be like with two cabs? Do you think with a 210 and a 115 it would keep up with a hard hitting drummer and three guitars (which are mostly overdriven)?
  14. Look what’s for sale on this very friendly forum....it’s like it’s meant to be!! (I don’t know the seller).
  15. There’s a 410 Mag300 in one of the Rooms at the Rehearsal place we use. It sounds warm and is punchy. Easy to get a sound out that works well with 3 guitarists.
  16. Order placed for a refurbished Dell gaming machine. Quad core i5, 16gB Ram, 4gb graphics card, 1TB hdd. £365 which seems fair. Gaming PC Dell Quad Core i5-2400 16GB 1TB GTX 1050Ti WiFi Windows 10 64-Bit Desktop PC Computer (Certified Refurbished) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01E97IU1K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_HsLTBb57MS0H I’ll get some solid state memory at some point Ill probably run Reaper on it just need to find some value for money studio monitors now and I’ll be happy for the time being....assuming this refurbished machine does the trick when it turns up
  17. I have £500 to spend on a computer and, if possible, monitor speakers. I know that is cutting it very fine but it’s all I can afford. Maybe if I’m clever I could add a little. Anyway, I’ve been looking at amazon on the refurbished side of things and came across this... HP Pavilion 17T-G100 17.3-Inch HD+ Laptop (Modern Silver) - (Intel Core i7-6500U, 2.5GHz, 16GB RAM, 1TB Hard drive, Windows 10 Home) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01AC1THZ0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_tcvRBbREN0NK2 Now, I know how to work my software but am way out of the loop when it comes to hardware. Is this a decent spec for recording music at home (alongside photo editing and possible the odd video edit)?
  18. Anyone else get the email shot saying they have something coming back for bass players? New bass terror maybe? Who knows!
  19. They are a real guitar shop with real gear and real people. Any time I’ve been into one of their stores, Dunfermline or Glasgow, they have been helpful and knowledgeable. A long standing Scottish guitar shop...what’s not to like?
  20. That deal from Kenny’s is great. Why do I never have any money?!! I’ve been hankering after an all valve amp for ever and it’s even on my bucket list! The Ampeg sound seems to cut through the mix too so this (PF50) would be great in my 3 guitar loud band for rehearsals and off course for recording.
  21. Can’t believe this is still here. I love mine!
  22. Cool rig. Well done. Do ashdowm have a web page with seconds for sale?
  23. Cool bass. I have the same case and it rocks. What year is the bass from?
