  1. Jumping on this thread as it has useful info. Things seem to have moved on with tech a wee bit in the last two years I am after an audio interface and can’t decide between these three all in my limited budget: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 v2 Steinberg UR 242 Sreinberg UR22 mkii Any opinions from experience. It’ll be used for recording bass guitar, electric guitar and acoustic guitar for demos in the House. The Steinergs come with Cubase light and the Focusrite comes with Protools light. This is my first foray into audio interfaces.
  2. I want to see Greta Van Fleet but every show is sold out!! Damn it. Have been following their progress for months and they arranged and organised a tour while I was incapacitated and didn’t even tell me!😫
  3. My P gives fret buzz on the last fret only when playing the second last fret. No buzz anywhere else. Action is low as I like it that way and the rest of the neck plays a treat. When adjusting the bass to rid it of said buzz, would I adjust the truss rod or adjust saddle height a tad? Is there a rule over when to adjust truss rod or saddle height and which order to do it in? Cheers, TP
  4. Guitar Guitar have a Russian Pickle second hand for £95 at the mo.
  5. Hi, just had this pop up via FB. https://www.andertons.co.uk/chapman-ml1b-dave-hollingworth-signature-bass-in-quicksand-mlb1-dh-qsd Looks pretty sweet!
  6. It’ll sound pretty different as the Pork and Pickle is based around the Russian Pickle.
  7. Hey Pea Turgh, I wanted to protect the top of my pedals a bit so the rim sits just a tad higher than my tallest pedal. Fairly simple construction. I’m about to do a new one once I’ve made my new workbench and my Pork and Pickle pedal arrives. I’ll then do a guitar specific board and a bass board. Right now this does both.
  8. A wee google search and GAK had them for 729
  9. I seem to remember they were about £800 when they came out. ‘‘Twas about the same time I was looking and I bought an American Special for just a bit more.
  10. My question now is, how does the Pickle side (fuzz) compared to a bass big muff now it has a blend pot added?!
  11. Have an email from GuitarGuitar with a cost of £184. The Pork Loin alone is £177 so that’s not a bad price in comparison. I’m guessing that Reverb link is shipping from overseas.
  12. That’s what I thought. A separate switch for each would make sense, like the ehx hot wax.
  13. Just had this back from the local shop... We have only just had an email from our supplier regarding the Pork & Pickle - I am still awaiting pricing information but we'll be looking at an ETA of March at this time.
  14. Just had this pop up on Facebook. Being in the hunt for a new drive and fuzz pedal this might be just the ticket...wonder how much it’ll cost?
  15. I too have an Ampeg Scrambler that I bought a few months ago. Up until three days ago I was very unhappy with it. Then I decided to put my Pbass right into it before my compressor instead of after the compressor. A completely different ball park now, totally happy with it. Drive at 3oclock, blend at 2 o’clock and treble rolled off a bit and it sounds brilliant. Full, fat, dirty, responsive to the touch, digs it with a pick and sounds great with the low mids on my amp at 220hz. Can’t wait til next rehearsal now! Can also roll. Back the volume on the bass a tad to drop the drive off a bit without touching the pedal. Think it was £90.
  16. Looking good. I made one like that then decided to re-do it. Turning out ok, finishing touches when I finalise my pedals. Power cables all run underneath a panel that sits in a recess.
  17. Thanks very much. That review of all the fuzzes is great. I have vouchers for GuitarGuitar so most likely go with them.
  18. Thanks very much for your helpful comment, and everyone else too. When I go in to try out the deluxe big muff I’ll have a go with the other options too. Yeah, fighting three guitars is an issue. Had a bass soul food which helped significantly but it blew one day in the house. This different approach could work.
  19. Happy New Year everyone. I am leaning towards diving in to an EHX Bass Big Muff Deluxe. There are a couple of songs we play could do with some interesting mid-high gain dirt that still sounds smooth but with the ability to cut through three guitars and a loud drummer. This pedal looks/sounds great on the variety of YouTube clips I’ve watched. Are there any real alternatives at that price point?
  20. There’s a Genz Benz Shuttle in the For Sale thread on this site.
  21. Had anyone used the Wampler Low Blow....seems like it has all the options you’d ever need on a drive pedal? My new Ampeg Scrambler isn’t setting my world alight, seems to need just the right input signal to make it work effectively.
  22. Great photo’s. I was there last night too, my pics aren’t quite as good as yours!! Biggest thing that struck me was just how much fun he has on stage! He seemed to love every minute. Gilbert and him are so talented they can hold the song down, play crazy stinky poo and sing and fool around all at the same time!
  23. Last night was in Glasgow to see MR BIG. They were magnificent. Didn’t know where to look, was Lisa like a tennis match watching Sheehan, back to Gilbert, back to Sheehan, and so on. The sound was ace though Gilbert was a little low in the mix for rythm stuff. Pat Torpley was along for backing vocals, a bit of percussion and took the drums for a ballad. A sensational night. Took this video with my phone and posted it on the inter web
