  1. Greta Van Fleet don’t even have a full album out yet. They have their first four track EP and an extended EP (From the 🔥). Yes, they do demonstrate large influence from Led Zep, but so have others before them so for me it’s a non issue. If you like the music why does it matter who they sound like anyway?! As long as they don’t peddle someone else’s music as their own, which they have not done.
  2. Hi, I was in the front next to Superfan Rex. I spoke to you after the show and sent you guys a few photos and a video. You are a great bass player and should be proud of yourself! You really did seem to be enjoying the whole gig! Was that a GK amp you were playing through into the PA? Sounded really punchy and clear. Anyway, I have the T-Shirt now and will spread the word on The Second Sons if anyone else here gets the chance to see them in London, do take it as you’ll have a blast
  3. @LoneFurrow I totally get what you mean regarding the inaudible rambling between songs. I was in the front row and I could tell he is actually quite shy. I think this part of his act will develop as their confidence develops with time. Sam’s bass playing was excellent, reminded me of some JPJ riffs often. He also had good control of his bass pedals while playing the organ. He had funky socks on which no doubt helped!!
  4. At the gig in Glasgow on Friday they received an excellent response from the crowd. Whether or not they re-enact early Zep didn’t rally seem to matter to the crowd who were all roaring them on. The crowd was a right good mix of young and older, male and female (and one really annoying drunk/drugged couple). I’m all for them developing their take on vintage rock music that they grew up with in their farming community north west of Detroit. Hopefully their management allows them to go their own way. If you are annoyed by soundalikes I’d bet The Second Sons would annoy the hell out of you. They have a certain Rolling Stones thing going on, but are excellent entertainment, excellent musicians and they connected with the crowd in a way I haven’t witnessed for years (to me, doing this far more successfully than GVF on the night). They bring in other influences too and thoroughly put their own stamp on it.
  5. Brilliant. Just posted in the “saw last night” thread. Lots of footage appearing on line now. Greta Can Fleet are raw and refreshing. Support was The Second Sons, also excellent.
  6. Two nights ago. Greta Van Fleet supported by The Second Sons. Brilliant venue was St Luke’s just around from the Barrowland. Thoroughly impressed by both bands. The Second Sons deserve some attention and acknowledgement. They have a definite Stones vibe and are full of energy and excellent musicianship backed by great stage presence. George on bass ripped it, brilliant player. I can’t wait to see them again, very entertaining. They are from London Greta Van Fleet are getting lots of attention for their Led Zep comparison. They are what they are, Josh can’t change his voice. They do certainly sound vintage but that’s the way they are because of the music they grew up with. They got a great reception from a very supportive and loud crowd and they are excellent musicians. The songs were all brilliant and they covered a Howlin Wolf track. Vocals were a little low in the mix especially near the front and centre and this irked some fans. Belter of a set though and a very friendly crowd. They will be back on a bigger stage.
  7. Managed to get a ticket via a fan on their Facebook page. I said I was after a ticket and he messaged me. Got it for face value too which was heart warming in today’s re-sale climate. No idea on fan base demographics but I don’t really care either. It’s refreshing that a young band playing vintage style rock is generating a strong following before they’ve even recorded a real album and they (management) are milking it for all it’s worth!! Apparebtly they will be back in Europe later on the year.
  8. I got a ticket for Glasgow......yeeeha!! Anyone else going?
  9. I was hankering after a big muff before the PandP was announced. The PandP seems to tick a lot of boxes and it’ll surely be a top product that will get lots of attention, but I wanted/needed something fuzzy now so didn’t want to wait on a shifting delivery date. I’m fairly easy pleased and the big muff will do what I wanted the PandP for. Cheers
  10. Cancelled my order for a Pork and Pickle and got a Deluxe Bass Big Muff Pi instead. Initial impressions through my 2watt all valve guitar amp with my bass in the living room are great. Can’t wait to plug it into my bass amp!!
  11. Thanks folks. I can now go and look into those. Initially itll just be for getting basic song structures and ideas together at home. It’s Ableton Live Lite for the DAW.
  12. Hi, looking to to get into some recording at home for the first time. Have an interface and about to buy a mic. I am looking to find out of there are any reasonable drum simulators out there that don’t cost much? Cheers, TP
  13. Apparently the bass player has only been playing four years!! There’s hope for us all!!
  14. Yeah, that’s correct. Though I haven’t made up my mind yet......keep waiting or pick up a bass big muff and something else. Main confusion was Way Huge telling me the issue was with Guitar Guitar, though it seems it’s not.
  15. So, I’ve been listening to this band for about a year now, have bought their EP and had it shipped from the states, kept tabs on their progress as they tour America, and somehow missed the fact they are playing a short uk tour and going to Glasgow. Would love to see them, but £13 tickets are on resale sites for £100! Anyway, if you haven’t already, check them out, they bring that vintage rock vibe right back up to date with similar phrasing to Plant, JPJ and co. The bass guitar Kiszka brother uses simple effective gear with the bass frequencies cut a fair amount by the sound of things There is a gear review online with premier guitar which is pretty cool and lots of recent live YouTube action. Like this... PS: anyone have a spare ticket for Glasgow on 1st April?
  16. I love vouchers. Forces the money to be spent on something fun/selfish rather than stolen by her indoors for something less important like food and clothes.
  17. I used Guitar Guitar vouchers...I don’t actually know how that works!?
  18. Wondering how close I’d get with two separate pedals for the same money. If I take my £185 and buy a Bass Big Muff, what other overdrive pedal would do something similar to a Pork Loin for £100.
  19. Have an email today saying the P&P will be shipped at end of March or beginning of April now. I hope it doesn’t keep getting shifted back. Enjoy your SA, it’s a shame 🎸 🎸 don’t sell them as I would have considered swapping.
  20. That SA Aftershock does sound awesome in videos and audio clips I have heard. I’ll wait another week or two and see what happens. I contacted WayHuge and they got back saying they have been shipping the P&P since December and that the issue must be with Guitar Guitar.
  21. thanks for your feedback folks. I found a great deal on the Roland Rubix24 so went for that. It seems to offer all the things I need and then some and I got four outputs so helpful for my needs and my available money. I’ll report back once it arrives and I have spent some time with it.
  22. I think (hope) it’s you as I’ve preordered one!
