  1. How is the Helix Stomp for getting a good bass tone recorded, do you use it on its own or with other pedals?
  2. Hi everyone. Hope you are all ok and not being affected beyond repair by Covid. Here is a song I wrote the basic riffs for on bass and the band rocked over it. Really happy with this for a home recorded effort with different instruments being recorded in different houses at different times in different ways. Anyway, here it is on YouTube, also available to stream and download on the usual digital sources.
  3. Biffy Clyro Mountains or Many of Honour? Still rock, more contemporary.
  4. My absolute hero. RIP. Inspired more than one generation! Left many memories and a huge legacy.
  5. Thanks for taking the time to write that. I think it’s something I’m going to look into for home recording (for bass and guitar). That or the Benson Preamp. I like the thought of the extra headroom with the 24v model too. I’m also a fan of the BSF, it had a mid hump which works well with my Streamliner amp.
  6. As per the title? Anyone used this as a preamp for recording or in front of their amp? liking the sounds it makes on guitar and it can be powered up to 24V for increased headroom so should be cleaner for bass...any experience out there?
  7. Nice one. Glad you like it. loving my Audient for the most part. One very annoying trait though, if my PC goes to sleep I have to set up the drivers again....every time. Super annoying. Never happened with my Roland.
  8. Hi everyone. My band write and record our own tracks. This is our latest song to be released. We usually do an album every three years or so but with Covid decided to release some of our fresher recordings as singles. Anyway, here it is... hope you like it!
  9. Here’s an MB150 in great condition at a reputable shop for £299 https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/pxp200830361618006-5555864--gallien-krueger-mb150e-pre-owned-118665
  10. If this is still here in two months I’ll be all over it! Good luck.
  11. That’s beautiful. If only I had the funds I’d snap it up. Good luck!
  12. Thanks very much. Looking forward to playing with this now😀
  13. Where are you seeing this? I went to the website and it’s asking for £99.
  14. It has a jazz bass body reduced in size and the neck is a great shape.
  15. Hi. I have this....Fender Sixty Six made in Mehico. Love it to bits. Neck pup is brilliant and bridge hum bucker too. Middle position doesn’t get much use on its own but tames the humbucker nicely if the amp has lots of treble.
  16. Why have you drawn arrows and circles all over it with yellow marker? That’ll be. A bugger to remove😂
  17. Thanks for that. Interesting indeed. With all the paranormal, etc... stuff that Fender is doing at the moment I’m surprised they don’t have a modern version.
  18. Thanks very much @Jus Lukin I wonder if it would do well with bass guitar/bass preamp as well as guitar/guitar preamp? I fancy using it with a Victory V4 preamp ( or similar) or with a good bass preamp or even the effects send of my Genz Benz Streamliner.
  19. That’s a beautiful bass...is it still for sale? It’s pretty heavy, what’s it made of?
  20. Hi. Does anyone make a low power valve power amp. I’m thinking that pre amps are so popular and I have for bass and for guitar. I’d love a valve power amp that ranges from something like 2 to 20 watts to use along with the pre amps. Could make a great pedal board in to power amp for rehearsal or recording and be very flexible.
  21. This is mine. It’s my favourite because I built it and it’s the only one I have. It’s analogue and is very quiet. Slap back with a six string is great sounding. Not used with my bass yet? I also gave it the best delay pedal name known to man.
  22. I stumbled across this bass whilst trawling the internet. I have a Precision and a Jazz already but have been hankering over a Stingray, though my friend recently bought an Ian Thornley signature Suhr guitar which looks and plays marvellously. Anyhow; I don’t think anyone makes anything like this for below £1000 and I think the aesthetics are amazing and the sound would rock, especially if the pup was moved in to a stingray position. I think the best option might be to get Warmoth to route a humbucker pickup in a Jaguar Bass Body and get a neck there too and build it up myself...anyone got any other ideas?
  23. Yep, my last bass purchase was a second hand (bought from Guitar Guitar though so had that back up if it was a dud) Geddy Lee jazz bass MIJ and I have to say it’s a pleasure to play. It turned out to be in perfect condition apart from a truss rod adjustment and the quality of fit and finish is amazing. The paintwork, frets, everything is amazing. Even smells nice! The only niggle i would say (and am lead to believe is the same on any jazz) is that if you have one pickup less than full there is some hum depending on your surroundings. Not really noticed at home but do in the rehearsal room.
