If this interests people can I suggest reading Steve loopy newhouse’s book “loopyworld” its a really very well written book and a great read. Available from the author here : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Loopyworld-The-Iron-Maiden-Years-Soft-Cover-Book-by-Steve-Loopy-Newhouse/123896646234?pageci=2a7a43e2-a221-4b95-a82d-bf427361dae8

I also have a couple. Thomann used to have a leather thing that attached to a belt and held the transmitter in place with Velcro. I still use mine from time to time. (X2 transmitters) I also have the Neotech neoprene pouch which works well with my g30 transmitter, and I use a leather belt ‘wallet/ phone holder’ that I got at a festival for my Thunderstick shows. (X2 transmitter) for simpler things I just use a sweatband on the strap 😉

I’ve been using both on my board since hey released them. With my bc riches, thunderbird and p basses, I find the only thing that trips them up is fast playing. Longer sustained notes are king, especially lower on the neck, but I can get some great purple esque Hammond stuff working on the d and g strings without any issues

I've been using one of these on my touring board. No issues whatsoever https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Effect-Power-Supply-Isolated-Output-9V-12V-Caline-CP-05-10CH-Guitar-Pedal-Board/254297637394?_trkparms=aid%3D333200%26algo%3DCOMP.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20171012094517%26meid%3D8618401ec30a4e08869956c581c727cc%26pid%3D100008%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D401896311350%26itm%3D254297637394%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100008.m2219 There is an updated one (CP8 I believe) which has a USB outout as well and costs a couple of quid more -
Looks like a reissue/ reimagining Of the original harmonic booster pedal.

I should perhaps also mention that I have a Tom DeLonge strat. Have absolutely no interest in whatever he does musically, but it’s a single humbuckered rock machine. Seymour designed pup and plays beautifully. Also I have a Zakk Wylde epiphone les Paul. I was working in the guitar shop on the day my nan died and this guitar was delivered on that day. I eventually bought it with some cash that she left me. At the time I liked the way he played and sounded, but now I keep it purely for the sentimental purposes.

Who influenced you to pick up and start playing Bass.

Originally a classically trained cellist until I watched live after death too many times and heard saints and sinners by whitesnake. Steve Harris initially, then Neil Murray, Geezer and McCartney -
Long post alert!! I’ve played a fair few sig models over the years in various shops, but never felt the need to actually buy one. The geddy was nice, but I don’t really do jazz basses- the pups just don’t do it for me. Although i did enjoy the clankyness. The nate Mendel was ok. Nothing overly special for me. Marcus millers fender was ok, but I just didn’t gel with it. Rob trujillo’s tobias- although not a sig, it was his actual instrument. Beautiful through and through, but didn’t have the £700 needed at the time the mike dirnt fender- I have no interest in green day whatsoever, but I really liked this bass. Simple, effective and a lovely design. Dry sorely tempted there thise are the ‘greatest hits’ if you will, but it leads me to the only actual sig I own currently. I have a cij mark2 Steve Harris precision. The one with the blue sparkle body. I tried one of these at the old digital village store in Romford and to put it quite simply it was the best p bass I had ever played. The neck is fat, it has a maple neck, is not light and felt like home. I walked away crestfallen, without he wherewithal to buy 😢 fast forward a couple of years and I tried the mark 3 West Ham model. Same lovely neck and tone, but with anything football related on it is a no no for me. Colours I could deal with, but a bloody great logo? Nah. I finally managed to get my hands on one two or three years ago, and it has not disappointed one iota. It records beautifully, and live it sounds immense through my rig. Any that know me know that I’m a big harris fan and only play initially because I watched live after death too many times lol. Despite the association and colour scheme (blue and mirror plate ) it is quite simply an amazing p bass.

Sh has a custom made preamp based on an old ss hiwatt in his rack.
-
I understand the desire to market the pedal to SH fans, but surely considering the range of tones available ( with the exception of the Motown one) it might be better to call it a British rock preamp? Each of these videos makes me gas for it even more! 😂😂 but then I look at the rrp 😳😳

To be honest I might have spoken too soon lol. Repair bills always seem to jump on the unsuspecting 😉😂

How do you become a guitar/bass tech?

The m80 once set up well, doesn’t sound fizzy when used direct. The key is restraint. ( been using one in a di/ iem situation for over 10 years) Its best used as a gritty basic sound that you add to via another drive pedal.

Why didn't this clip ever go viral on Basschat

My main gigging amp is a 7400 dbs. I also have a 7200 as backup. As lozz says - loads of welly and really great tone. However, it’s very heavy and when I travel abroad for shows and gigs with provided cabs, I take my tc mini head. I can get close enough to my recorded sound to keep me happy, and Johnny punter doesn’t really notice 😉 plus it takes minimal space to carry 👍 My first choice is always going to be my Marshall, and I do use it wherever possible. If I found another 7400 I would be all over it. Imo very few amps come close tone wise to it.

I’ve been wireless for more years than I like to admit 😉 now using various x2 systems. Don’t have any issues with latency/ dropout no matter the size of stage ( festivals to pubs)
