  1. It should work just fine mate
  2. Yes. Should be fine with the correct adaptor i use a lot of the fx series pedals, and they all work fine with a 9v psu and the correct adaptor.
  3. "Spare a talent for an old ex cellist?" i played cello for nine years and grade 8 before swapping to bass. I recently had a cello come in for some work to be done, and I had a sneaky play whilst it was here. I fell in love again! I will be looking for one to buy soon 😉 The biggest change is the tuning in fifths rather than fourths, but with a little work, it's very achievable
  4. My hard rock covers band was booked to play at a pub not too far away. It turned out when we arrived that it was essentially a harvester style restaurant/ pub. We played our usual sets and towards the end of the second set, I had a punter come to the front and ask very politely - "excuse me, I don't want to be rude, but how many songs do you have left?" Alwaysbmake us chuckle
  5. I really liked the de Scorpio which was the Dave Ellefson signature and very similar to this model. A very nice instrument all in all
  6. Sennheiser 835. I really like the sound of it. Not so sure on my vox though 😉 With main singist said using akg or shure, it sits well
  7. £25? bargain of the year right there! Very jealous- been looking for one of those for years!!!
  8. I bought some on eBay to vary the heights of the switches on smaller pedals to give me better control. I got 6 delivered from China for around 3 quid on eBay
  9. I actually quite like gene. He says precisely what he means to say with no apologies. It's good to have people with an opinion, rather than someone that is worried that they are going to offend someone. His opinions may be wrong, but they are his opinions
  10. Di played the classic pro and gibbo version back to back a couple of years ago the epi destroyed the Gibson on every level. Playability, sound, price
  11. Didn't geezer use Marshall before he switched to ampeg? im also not convinced about the Harris thing. His preamp is a cone of a 70's hi watt. As far as I'm aware the only Marshall connection is the cab boxes, which he loads with ev speakers
  12. I used the Jazz 3 for a while, before discovering the petrucci picks. They're slightly larger, but the feel is better for me
  13. Ive been using Dunlop or delrin 1.14 for many years. It gives me the hard front end I need without sacrificing any of my low end. I have found that even within that size and material, they do vary, which I find a little strange. But for recording I use the Dunlop John petrucci picks. Lovely!
  14. I like the look of the back, but everything else is meh to me
  15. For this kind of tone I use a passive bass w roto swing bass, a very heavy right hand, a combination of an ehx bass soul food, an orange burst by caline, a mid boosted eq, and a loud rig with lots of 10" speakers
  16. My instruments are by and large in my office. The only people that visit me there are students and professional friends that know that I play
  17. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
  18. Heaven- tasteful playing that suits the song, inventive sounds that are supportive to the mood of the song and provide movement towards the next part. Chunky necks on a p bass. Bc rich. Passive basses Hell- 'look at me' playing, showboating in an inappropriate point of a song. Victor Wooten . Jazz basses and j pups without anything else. Boutique basses that are just copies of other mainstream instruments. Active basses-
  19. I like it. Looks kinda cool, and I could definitely see me gigging one
  20. He must feel like a right a**hole playing that
  21. Great pups. A student installed them in one of his basses. A definite gas inducing experience 😉
  22. Those knobs are the original p bass lyte ones 😉
  23. @Cosmo Valdemar he used a Leeds for a long time as part of his core tone. Hes the chap to talk to about it 😉
  24. I'm a busy gigger, but recently have been increasingly reliant on band members goodwill. I have a herniated disc which places pressure on the nerves running down my left leg, leaving me with a limp at best and relying on a stick at worst. I'm currently awaiting an assessment regarding surgery I also supply all the pa and lighting for my main band. I am incredibly blessed in that I have friends ( non music mates😉) that will help me to load if necessary, and build/ breakdown at the show. In my bands it's always a team effort no matter what goes on. I am incredibly grateful and humbled that people are so happy to help.
  25. That definitely looks the shizzle. Id be tempted 😉
