was playing mine this week, fantastic bass, very well made, incredibly playable, and the fanned frets are actually easier to play. As discreet says go and make a trip to bass direct, Mark has several in stock, try one and see how you get on. if you can get yourself down to London next weekend, I gather Sheldon will be on the Bass direct stand at the Bass Show so you can try and meet the guy behind the basses too, just a thought

i've finally managed to acquire a bass from my past, a 1983 model in Sunset Red Gloss. The condition is very good, cosmetically a few chips missing laquer, some swirl marks and a grubby volume knob. The active circuitry doesn't seem to be working at the moment, and the action is set far too high for my liking, all minor issues that are easily remedied. A few pics:

For sale or possible trade is my Bergantino AE210 cab, It's one of the later upright cabs and comes complete with a padded Bergantino cover. As with all my gear it is in excellent condition. I'm looking for £450 ono for this. I dont really want to post, but am willing to deliver / meet part way, subject to distance. Trade wise I'm looking for something of a similar value and maybe add cash too: Warwick Thumb , Warwick Corvette $$ or I'm interested in Phil Jones Bass gear Model AE210 specifications:

•2 x 10" Custom Neodymium Driver with 7oz magnet and vented pole pieces
•high intelligibility 1" tweeter
•custom phase - coherent crossover with tweeter level control
•power handling - 400 watts rms
•frequency response:40Hz - 15kHz
•sensitivity: 100db • 1 watt/1 meter
•2 x 1/4" and 2 x neutrik connectors
•impedance: 8 ohms
•dimensions: 22 3/4" W x 18" H x 12 1/2" D
•55.9cm x 45.7cm x 31.75cm
•weight: 40lbs/18 Kgs
•Padded/fitted cover £60
I thought the same, until I tried the bass cub, a 100 watt combo with 2x 5" neo's - very impressed and i play a fiver too. As with most cabs try them, you could be surprised. -
Wishbone Ash, trip down memory lane soon.

cor, theres a blast from the past saw them in the 80's at Chippenham Goldiggers. I seem to remember it was very loud and my ears were ringin' for ages. -
quite unbeleivable for the size.
Agreed, for such a tiny amp, what a gorgeous sound.
What a fantastic experience. We may have left home 27 hours before the gig, but it was well worh it. We arrived to find a cracking lighting rig with moving heads and all the other fancy stuff and an engineer who knew his stuff. PA ewas a Martin line array system, Yamaha LS9 desk and a sound engineer who was oustanding. Setup was a bit delayed due to the demands of others being a bit elaborate, but we just got on, set up and were soundcecked in no time at all. It sounded great right out of the box. The actual performance just ticked off with no issues at all and the crowd were wonderful and receptive giving us a warm reception. Such a great experience and certainly ticked a few boxes for me. I feel humbled to have been a part of such a great festival.
From someone that was there, Comedy of Errors ran through a cracking set and the crowd loved them.

oooh you are playing Sunday aren't you? I have tickets for Sundays gig, what time you on stage?

Saw you at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall last night, very impressed.

go try them, where are you based? If you are close to Portsmouth i believe Nevada Music has a small range of Genz gear, but for the best selection try Mark at Bass Direct.
Spot on. Doesn't matter if it's valves in a milk crate or transistors in a biscuit tin, if it sounds right it is right...
+1 thats it. if it sounds right to you, then it is. i tried all three and settled on a hybrid but that doesn't mean its best but its BEST FOR ME Best for you could be something completely different.
