    SOLD Selling a lovely Ray34 bought on this very forum. Only selling as I want to go US and HH. These things have the Stingray tone, grunt and sparkly top end for days and are made in Indonesia to a very high standard. Previous owner has really looked after this one, great quality. Selling in used but not abused hardcase and price reflects this and UK/ROI postage. Previous thumbrest had been removed so some scratches on pickguard. This is aesthetic only and bass is in great working order. Thanks for looking. Michael

    A zoom b4 will give you multiple usable bright tones as well as a drum machine, tuner etc. I have an RBX 775 and comparing to a jazz is chalk and cheese. The yamaha is pure active double humbucker power. A passive jazz won't do this without a decent pre no matter how uts set up. The zoom will get you there for under 100 quid.

    For what its worth, I found my player to be a bit tame and was expecting punch. The am pro ii have the v mod pickups so need to cater for vintage and modern. Maybe the performer would be better? Yosemite pickups are hotter. The best slap tone is a stingray for me but that's just my opinion of course.

    They are a bit ho hum. My player was well made but just felt a bit weak. This could be a passive jazz thing for me. If you can snag a used performer, they're US made with yosemite pickups(hotter than the v mod I believe). There's one on gumtree for 900 quid which is decent. I can't justify 1500 on an am pro ii to play in my kitchen
