    They are a bit ho hum. My player was well made but just felt a bit weak. This could be a passive jazz thing for me. If you can snag a used performer, they're US made with yosemite pickups(hotter than the v mod I believe). There's one on gumtree for 900 quid which is decent. I can't justify 1500 on an am pro ii to play in my kitchen

    Beautiful Know what you mean about Ray's, struggle to get to grips with neck/pickup placement (made a thumbrest) but they are Beautiful and sound immense.

    @mikeycrikeythe truss rod, action can't be lowered but is low already? I set up my basses as low as they go, just curious. Also, from looking online, neck is a bit slimmer than the 424 series (traditional 41mm nut P bass)?
