1. They're my favourite band ever, but, in light of the output 'By The Way' onwards, I wasn't expecting much (Detest Stadium Arcadium and I'm With You) but this actually pleasantly surprised me. I have high hopes for the new album now that Josh is established and out of his shell, he's a brilliant musician.
2. I love the track (Burn the witch) and same as you really, a late bloomer when it comes to Radiohead. I'll be burned at stake for this (Pun intended) but I only like their output from ' Hail to the Thief ' onwards.

Punchiest 2x12

Fantastic! Thank you!

Punchiest 2x12

Some great suggestions chaps, thank you. I like the sound of the Schroeders but can't seem to find anywhere that sells them in the UK?
5. My role in my 3 piece band is based all around punch and poking through the mix but at the moment I feel my sound is lacking in that department. My Markbass is a great cab and does have some thump but not quite the extremes I'm chasing. I'm interested in peoples experience with cabs that have a strong 'Pop'. Other aspects of tone are not so important and I really want to stay in 2x12 territory for weight and portability reasons. Cheers in advance
6. I'm a big Musicman fan but, to me, these are painfully dull. Imo etc etc.
7.
Great. Panic over. I assume you don't get the same sort of noise through your cab when plugged into it? Thanks ☺
I can't recall having noticed it through my cab, only the headphone socket. Enjoy, it's a brilliant little amp!
8. Yep, mine has done this from new. You can hear something physically click inside too. Just the digital power module switching on I think? I could of course be hideously wrong
9. I tried a set once on my old Yamaha TRB4. I was distinctly underwhelmed! Died fast too. :\
10. I personally couldn't care less if it has a signature on the headstock, being a signature model wouldn't put me off buying a bass. A good bass is a good bass and 99% of the audience wouldn't have a clue anyway!
11. I used to own a Carlsbro B150 4x10 combo, it was my first 'proper' amp. It really wasn't that bad! Celestions, compressor and a graphic eq! It was bloody huge though and I remember having to clear out dozens and dozens of dead moths that had made their way in the port. A punchy amp, Certainly better than the 50w Torque combo i used at school!
12. I absolutely love Flea but that is just AWFUL.
13. Dave just bought my TC mini Flashback, a thoroughly pleasant and straightforward bloke, quick payment and no nonsense. I'd definitely do business again. Enjoy it Dave!
14. I don't like anything that looks remotely vintage and behave like a moth to anything that has twinkly lights or is lit up like a Christmas tree. I love loud colour schemes like Markbass or the Alu Hartke cabs, that new Peavey MiniMega head too #GAS.
15. Keep the head, flog the cabs and buy a strong, lightweight 4x10 with big power handling! I had a GK neo which was a one hand carry (just about). Also as Lozz says, I doubt those mismatched cones are helping matters much.
16. Just sold my beloved Jazz to Andy, a very friendly and polite guy, easy going and fuss free. Prompt sale and payment with no messing about. Deal with total confidence!
17. I use a TC BH550 with a Markbass NY122. I wouldn't worry about anything volume wise. I thought the new BH series were supposed to be genuine wattage anyway? It certainly sounds like a 550watt amp, if not more! It easily crushes the old LittleMark 250 I had. On that note, it's a much clearer and more hi-fi head than the Markbass, which was very refined and warm sounding to my ears. Neither tonally better or worse, I personally just prefer the clarity of the TC.
18. Enjoy! She's a good'un!
19.
If any Warwicks ever become collectable it'll be the pre-89 ones but I wouldn't be spending loads on them at the moment - there are substantially better ROI's out there. What you do get is a really high quality, nice sounding bass for not a lot of money. Assuming that's the sound you like. If I were getting a YOB bass it'd probably be an early streamer.
Snap. My plan for a YOB bass is an 86 Streamer!
20. Owned from new. Unboxed. In very good condition and barely used. Would make a great first envelope filter, it has a disgustingly funky tone! Would recommend using PSU with it as it eats batteries like Pacman in a pill factory.
21. In as new condition, used 3-4 times since I bought it. Unmarked with original box stickers etc. Beautiful sound, selling due to having a TC BH550 with toneprint, which covers my delay needs! Cheers
22. I'm now using 35-95 gauge Elites after years of 45-105 and I wish I'd made the switch sooner. I find the lower tension much more comfortable and more responsive to playing dynamics. I have to say, i haven't noticed the sound being any thinner either.
23.
Would you consider posting & if so how much to post to Harrogate?
Yeah, I'd be happy to post, I should of said in the ad, need to find a suitable box though, think I've actually still got the original fender one in the attic! I'd cover the postage, so no worries there.
24. Welcome! I'm up in sunny Chipping Norton!
