  1. Hi folks I have a set of Nickel round wounds (like new) Rotosound strings for sale all cut for a Fender style 4 in-line headstock. £10 posted UK mainland Nickel roundwounds
  2. Nice. Is that a different style of control knob? Apologies, I should get out more.
  3. The one I owned was one of a pair that were made with the P pickup the 'normal' way round. If I remember the thing I was less keen on was that I perceived that there was amount of phase cancellation going on and I just couldn't quite get the balance of sound that I was looking for. Bear in mind also that this was the first P/HH pass I have owned which may account for this. The TTs are of course essentially Jazz basses with which I am considerably more familiar and 'know' where to go for a particular sound. I had the VM for about a year so it wasn't the case of running away screaming, but more a case of trying for quite a while to get what I was after. Token pic...
  4. I never got on with the VM basses personally, but I love the TTs, especially the passive ones, anything but dark in my experience. My current one (passive TT4) has the Black Label pickups on too, so plenty of punch available.
  5. I think medication is available for this issue.
  6. Was that the red one on Bass Direct? I think we should be told.
  7. @Velarian I think we determined early on that S might also be beyond the pail per Matt P's post so I agree that S>n+1. I fell that my postulation that S-1<=n+1 is still valid
  8. Acutally, I think we may have a solution. If S>n+2 and we already know that n+2 is too many, then S is also too many. Therefore it is likely that S-1<=n+1. That's all clear then
  9. Hey there Mr Zed I haven't seen you in ages, not since the gig at the Seven Stars to be precise; I hope you're keeping well. You would be most welcome to come round and try it once it's landed.
  10. I've just taken a punt on one of the Sadoewsky MIC Metroline fretless J/J basses. Looks like v3 as some updates on the early runs and hopefully many of the issues fixed. Due this week all being well.
  11. I might suggest the tier system to Mrs ead in relation to shoes and handbags. On the other hand I have become quite attached to my dangly bits
  12. My sincere apologies
  13. Have the other 11 fallen over?
  14. So the absolute key test is now: Is S-1>n+1, could also be expressed as is S>n+2
  15. I've had a couple and they have been very nice. Worth checking it's a wood body not the weird gluey composite thing. Ask for a pic without the pickguard and, if he'll do it, of the neck pocket. Hard to tell from your pics but it looks like there may be wood-grain there. The 'featureless' bodies are the ones to watch out for.
  16. I used to own one of these and I have to say mine sat flush to the bass. There are the best two pics I have.
  17. I think the only one in store is the Basic 4, the rest are to order. @Quatschmacher I have a TT4 here in Preston you are welcome to come and try but not quite what you were asking for.
  18. What is the string spacing at the bridge on these basses please?
  19. Respect, unlined fretless and vocals. Wow!
  20. Unlined here, and yes I feel your pain. I do the odd chord but not too much widdly widdly. More about inserting the odd harmonic for me.

    Unhappy

I'm rather enjoying an imitation '57 transition P bass atm. That is to say the single coil p/up with the more carved body. Sit's nicely in the mix and with flats on sounds lush.
  22. Or maybe Sparkly Kermit?
  23. Strange the way EMI works. I always thought the office was electronically noisy as it's also my music room but I now wonder if it's just the old laptop.
  24. Haha fixed. I was actually my (quite old) laptop that cased the effect when it was switched on. Weird.
