ACG build

It's going to be the longest 48 hours since the kids were born
2. Planet Waves item works fine for me E to G, but also when I had a 5-string it coped with a low B. You need to find the most resonant part of the headstock for optimal effect or tune with harmonics (or both).
3. I have a 130 gauge B string from a set of TI JF345 flats that has had very limited use that you are welcome to if you like.
4.
Looks like the Letts fretless has sold. Someone got the bargain of 2012 with that bass!
Please don't tell my wife.
5.
Nice one, looking forward to the update on that one. Which one in Alan's gallery is it? Peter
Hi Peter, here's the build diary for the bass... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/173590-acg-build/page__gopid__1905145#entry1905145

ACG build

Nearly there now. Picking the bass up at the weekend...
7.
Happy Birthday and enjoy the ACG Pre. I've a ACG03 on order I perhaps need to add that these are only available with a wood surround
I'm hoping to receive my own EQ03 with wood surround at the weekend...
8. Yeah, glad you got there! A retrospective happy birthday, and best wishes for the forthcoming NPD
9. Dave has just purchased an Aguilar TLC from me. Very easy to deal with, quick payment, plenty of PMs etc. Deal with confidence fellow BCers.

SOLD thanks

TLC sold, Pearl Octave still there for some lucky person.

SOLD thanks

And responded thanks.
12. Just trimming a couple of pedals I never really use. Both in excellent condition: [s]Pearl OC-07 Octave pedal - Excellent analogue octave pedal (MIJ in '80s I think) with 1 down, 2 down and, unusually, 1 up octaves available. Excellent tracking, and with the octave up option some really interesting sounds available. Comes with original box that is also in really excellent condition for its age and original instruction sheet. £95 posted - Reasonable offers also considered[/s] SOLD [s]Aguilar TLC Compressor - Well known quality compressor. No box with this one but will be well packed. Condition is excellent. £80 posted[/s] SOLD Thanks for looking. If you would like pictures of any particular detail please just ask.
13.
I love my active and passive basses. there is no better, just different. and it's all in your taste and your goals.
+1 to that.
14. I've heard nothing for a couple of weeks. I know the p/g I have asked him to reproduce has been received along with payment, but only because I sent it 'signed for'.
15. You may very well think so, but I couldn't possibly comment.

Aria SB-101

Can anybody clue me in on these basses please? Cheers
17.
Try the Fender 9050CL 45-60-80-105 flats set. Feel and tone. They converted me from rounds.
+1 I didn't need converting to flats, but these are great strings (imho)
18. I've used Wizard 84s on a Jazz fretless albeit with a rosewood board and imho they were rather special.
19. Anybody seen this? http://manchesterbasslounge.com/?p=2637
20. My first fretless was a Yamaha RBX270 that I bought for very little on evilbay and upgrade once I decided fretless basses were for me. Had it for about 4 years so it must have been OK. There are often similar things on the 'bay if you want to gamble a bit.
21. My sympathies to the OP. My digits have also had to deal with 30 years of rugby and several dislocations that I am now definitely noticing. As above, long warm up now required...
22.
There's a band round our way called One foot in The Groove, apart from the singer they are all in their 60's!
love it, wish I'd thought of that. I'm definitely the 'father figure' in our band; greying but loving it.
23. 1960 = absence of wonga in bank account
24. I've been into PMT in Salford (or is it Manchester) and have been completely ignored several times - won't be going there again. I've only ever bought a new bass on line once and that was from the Bass Merchant who were marvellous. Other than that mostly on here or occasional evilbay purchases.
25.
Thanks matey, I'm so impressed with the preamp, it's enormously powerful! and yes it is taking a little while to get my head round but I'm already able to dial in appropriate sounds relatively quickly inbetween songs...time will only improve my ease with this monster!
Aaaaahhhhh! My fretless ACG build seems to be progressing well (same pre) and seeing this just increases the anticipation. I'll have to go and lie down in the dark with a damp flannel on my head now.
