  1. A friend of mine uses them on his P34, not sure if the bridge design is the same. Does it work through the body?
  2. The ratio of core to wrap makes a difference, which is where a custom maker like Newtone comes in.
  3. @eude Those look gorgeous. Am enjoying your old 33” Shuker singlecut 6, but I can’t help but think I’d like a 32” or 31.5” even more.
  4. This is now sold, but I’m thinking about listing my other one (the one in excellent condition with a padded cover). Will take photos and start a new thread, but if anyone is interested they can feel free to get in touch.
  5. My 61 and 64 have that lovely wide and shallow “C type” neck which is so comfortable to play. The Japanese Fenders are also fantastic - a FSR 60s Precision Lacquer was my gateway, and I recently acquired an 84 Squier MIJ medium scale Precision with an absolutely killer neck too.
  6. I thought I was a Jazz guy for years, until I made the mistake of buying a P. Fast forward a few years and I now have five Ps including a Dingwall Super P and two pre-CBS Fenders. You have been warned.
  7. Sorry to hear that, Si. Always around if you need a chat 👍
  8. I’m mostly a P guy and like the feel of playing over the pickup, but can see how useful it would be to also have dual J pickups. Plus 32” scale...
  9. I’d love one of the J/P/J ones.
  10. Ah damn it, if I had known you were selling this too 😂
  11. Great transaction - thank you!
  12. D’Addario do a nice medium scale set which is probably worth trying first. I have them on medium scale Jazz which is in a similar vein to yours.
  13. @AndyTravis, reveal thy new acquisition...
  14. Time for you to join the medium scale thread, Andy... it’s an addictive club, I have three now.
  15. Doh don’t know why it corrected to KN, I meant KB!
  16. Ah you’re selling it! Almost tempted to visit just to see the kitty, KN and you. And the Dingwall...
  17. Flatwounds are so good though!!
  18. Bought a lovely Yamaha bass, easy transaction and great comms. Would definitely buy again!
  19. They’re neat basses, but the QC on the cheaper ones is very iffy and I’ve certainly seen variances in individual basses.
  20. @stewblack Funnily enough the other bass in my gig bag when I sold you the fretless was my BB435!
  21. It’s one of the newer chambered bodies isn’t it
  22. Thank goodness, I’ll now remove the ad I put up for my kidneys.
  23. Forgive me for asking as I’m guessing you mentioned elsewhere - who’s doing them for you and how much? Toying with getting my 435 one done in tort.
  24. I’d say keep using the bass that’s working for you. Saving a little £ is a bonus.
  25. The split coils are all noise cancelling if wired correctly. I have a Nordstrand NP4A, Bareknuckle 58, Fender Custom Shop 62, and I have an Aguilar AG4P somewhere waiting to go into something. I probably like the Nordstrand the best of those, but it is also in my 64 so that may be a factor. They are all fantastic pickups.
