+1 .....around £950 in that condition would be my guess, you could get a Squier VM P and a nice combo and have around £400 left for the charity, plus nobody would probably notice the difference from a playability and sound point of view. IMO

Just bought a nice Squier Bass Neck form Paul, great guy to deal with. Cheers Paul, I would recommend B.C.ers deal with Paul with total confidence. Regards, Nick
To answer the OP, the show (a performance from November 1974 at the Empire Pool, Wembley - 16th Nov I think) on the new DSOTM issue was broadcast on the Tommy Vance show. However on the disc it has been 'spruced up' a bit compared to the BBC broadcast. I had that broadcast on cassette for years (think I wore it out in the end).
......exactly what happened to my recording, played it to death.

Many years ago I recorded off the Tommy Vance Friday Rock show a cassette (remember them?) of Pink Floyd playing Dark side off the Moon from the early/mid 70's, bloody excellent it was IMO. Can anybody remember this or knows what date /venue this was from? I bought the 2011 remaster of DSOTM with the live version on disc 2 thinking this maybe the same show, now i'm not sure it is, anybody help? cheers, Nick

The 5 string set is £23!! on the net, see here http://www.rjsguitars.co.uk/products_string_bass.html scroll down to '5 String' (4th set down) ......so these are an absolute bargain at £10 inc post for quallity strings + you get TWO .125 'B' strings as well as the other 4 strings which could be used on a normal 4 stringer as I did with the last set I used & still a bargain for 4.

For sale, a pair of P - Bass Chrome Knurled Control Knobs Push on type. As-new condition, Push on type. Nice crisp knurling, nice chrome, £5 inc p+p STRINGS ARE NOW SOLD A Set of new in the packet Roberts Pro series strings, This is a 5 string set with an extra B string as the last set I used went on a 4 string bass hence the spare B string. In guages, 0.45 - 0.65 - 0.80 - .100 & 2 x .125 classed on the packet as light rock guage. Long Scale. Now I bought about 5 sets of these strings on recommendation from other players who were using these strings in preference to another brand also beginning with 'R' who people said were having quallity issues a few years ago and they are good strings. This is the last set I have but I now only use D'addario and Status flats so these may as well be sold for someone who uses roundwounds. Price; £10 inc p+p at this price good for a 4 string and sell the two B strings on. Thanks very much.

Led zeppelin and black sabbath just dont do anything for me !
Cygnus x-1 replied to gub's topic in General Discussion
For some reason LZ always seem to ramble on (ahem!) excessively. The rhythm section are obviously superb in their own way, but the music seems to get bogged down in itself (apart from the shorter numbers) Now Black Sabbath, on the other hand.... Are simply superb. Not all the material is good, and I tend to regard the first six albums with the original line-up as best; Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Master of reality, Volume 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage. And when they were "on-song", they were awesome. I think part of the appeal of Sabbath (for me) was the darker outlook, surely a product of their collective upbringing in and around Aston/Birmingham. by contrast, Zeppelin seemed altogether less disenchanted and more affluent. Led Zep - Woaaaah! My lady done left me (again) Black Sabbath - Songs about War, death, religion, politics, the future, the past, and (unsurprisingly) substance abuse.
although I like some LZ, this post re. BS is my opinion as well. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage are awesome albums, IMO of course. -
Just done the same thing on my CV Precision, I use the same guage as you in roundwounds. I put a set of Status HotWire flats on it in guages 40-60-80-100 and didn't have to adjust the bass at all. Heres a link; http://www.status-graphite.com/status/frames/index_home.html Good price too. HTH, Nick
