2. thanks for all the kind comments chaps i'm a very happy badger the photo posted is just out of the case,it's had a wee tweak & the strings positioned correctly now & it is fooking ace,i forgot how good a good P can be. took it to the 1st jam with a potential new band last night & the funk just flew from this bass,so much so we recorded it. i would upload it for you all to laugh at but i've no idea how to upload audio tracks (yes i am a luddite) so if you fancy a giggle at my expense let me know how to do it please. cheers chaps :edit- i think i like this bass that much i may even sell my Zon & get a back up,you know like you do
 3.
I just went B2B too with a superb Jazz Bass. Quite nice to be dealing with passive electronics and no fancy stuff. Lovely bass. Have fun with your P mate!
cheers Silddx you too with the jazzer, you know i only got my P today & i'm gassing for a J now the passive thing is nice as sometimes i just can't be arsed with a preamp & such, anyhow i'm taking it to the first jam/rehersal for my new band tonight so i'll certainly have fun (i hope)
 4.
Very nice ,enjoy playing
cheers matey
 5. happy bunny here just got back in from work to find my lovely shiney new bass waiting for me,which the wife had collected for me this afternoon. i was in my local music store on saturday just browsing & picked up U.S. P bass to have a widdle on. said bass has been in the shop for some time now but it seems nobody has bothered playing it,after a quick tweak here & there it plays like a dream, nice & simple with nowt to muck about with.i loved it & really enjoyed playing on it. of course as it had been hanging about for a while a damn good haggle ensued & i ended up with a brand new P bass for less than £900.00,bargain or what. anyhow here's photo i'm off to play with my toy,& i may even play with my bass once thats over.
 6. EDIT : ********* SPECIAL OFFER ********** i could do with shifting this bass on so i will now take £160.00 cash for this bass, which is a bloody steal. this is only until Friday ! if it hasn't gone by then i will withdraw it from here & stick it on evilbay. come on chaps it's a damn cheap bass now so get your dosh out p.s. for this price you will have to collect it from me in person. cheers. **************************************************************************************************** ****************************** due to an incoming new bass my conscience has got the better of me so i've decided to sell my "to go" bass. it has a mahogany body with a rather nicely grained wenge neck,2 band eq with a mid switch & two big f..k off MM style humbuckers. here's Corts web page for full specs http://www.cortguitars.com/_webapp_2719693/C4H it plays very nicely with a decent setup & pretty new strings (which were on it when i got it so i don't know what they are but i like 'em) soundwise very good indeed with a good range of tones available, very punchy too, infact this was the bass that made me like active electronics for the first time. it's in very good condition, the only mark of any signicance is under the bottom body horn,so it's not visible unless you look for it. i have included a photo of said scratch below. it comes with a padded gig bag. £200 i would prefer collection or a meet somewhere not too far from Harrogate. postage may be possible but only if i can get a decent box to ship it in,however this is at buyers risk. this makes a brilliant to go bass or a very nice starter for someone. cheers.
 7. i have never seen a U.S. reissue '62 Jazz with anything other than stacked knobs, mine was a mid to late 1990's one in L.P.B. but it had an off white scratch plate (parchment i think they call it).
 8.
Yes control knobs are the originals
i used to have one of these, shouldn't it have stacked knob controls ?
 9.
May I respectfully say you are so wrong. Most of the people I have worked with do the best they can with the time and resources available too them. We are lazy in away becouse if instrument sounds great why change it? a sound engineers priority is to make the band sound good. unless the band are paying me direct and demand otherwise I always take the audience and the venue into account, what I mean by that is if I am working at a family party in the park type of event and a metal band are on the bill I try to make them more palatable for the family audience and would mix them differently to a out and out metle gig (This should not effect the tone of the instruments )most pros like this becouse if the audience are happy and the venue are happy they get rebooked. Another reason engineers DI is far too many peoples sound doesn't work becouse they stand a few feet in front of often a large rig and pay little attention to how the sound works in the context of a mix. What a lot of people fail to realize is that even at a moderate sized venue the majoraty of the sound still comes from backline.
you may indeed mate, after all it's a free world. if you read my post fully i did say that i find most sound men to be absolutley fine, but in the past i've met many who just turn the bass into mud & will not even discuss it with me,these people i do not like. i like to think that i'm pretty good at setting my bass sound to what ever venue i play at & always discuss it with the engineer in a very jovial polite manner which nearly always leads to a very nice sound. my last band was lucky enough to have the C.E.O. of this company http://www.kv2audio.com/ playing keys & doing the sound for us. he actually commented on my sound & replicated it quite faithfully through the P.A. with just a little more bottom for extra "oomph",mind it is very high end gear with a fantastic sound-recommended (if you are loaded).
 10. stick to your guns mate, the sound eng's job is as you say "to amplify your sound" period. if he thinks tweeking it a tad may improove that sound then he should discuss it with you first, but ultimately it is your sound so the final say is yours. some engineers are just lazy bastards & take the easy option, but unfortunaley for them i'm big enough + agressive enough (only when needs be) to put my point accross effectively . however i do find most to be receptive to good constructive input & very good at their job,but i'd never buy one a pint.
 11.
He was great in The Mummy too...
you are a genious
 12.
im a bear... you show me the salmon, then take the salmon away!
sorry
 13.
Oh, looks like they've stopped making them. I nearly bought one before I got the MB combo. They come up on here from time to time 2nd hand for @ £350-400. Tho there's a good selection of combos (or amp/cab set ups) in this price range to try out.
i can strongly recomend a D Bass combo,i sold my Ampeg SVT rig (got sick of lugging it around) & bought a D bass 210 & love it to bits,it's light weight, sounds awesome & is fooking loud too. if you can find one snap it up,i was lucky & got mine new but shop soiled for £499.00 from Rocking Rooster, all it needed was some attention from a duster. i would not sell it ever.
 14. it's fairly pretty but it's far to much money for what is only a very basic bass really,it looks just like any other Fender bass to me.
 15. that is gorgeous,i almost almost offered you my Zon,but i'd never forgive myself. have a bump for a lovely bass anyway.
 16.
The delay has taken me into 20% tax territory too, so now I have to find an *extra* 2.5% when it comes to import duty. a £200 increase due to the delay. grrrrr.
personally i'd expect Zon to stand that as it is their fault not yours, had they have gotten their finger out your bass would be hear already. drop Joe an email about it & see if he'll drop the price a tad, assuming you've not already paid in full that is. although he may just ignore your email as usual .
 17.
Looks pretty posh to me I haven't seen any of these in the flesh yet but they look just amazing in pictures and really good value for money given the quality tops they all seem to have. You must let us know how you get on with it once you've had it a few weeks
hi chaps, well i've had the bass for just over a month now & i'm still loving it to bits, there is no other bass i would swap this for. it's done a couple of gigs recently & sounded awesome through my modest Roland combo,in fact my brother, our lead guitarist, said at the last gig "f***in hell our lad that sounds f***ing ace,it's got so much punch it nearly takes you're f***ing head off" do you think he likes it ? well impressed i don't think there is any other brand of bass on this planet & in this price range that can top these beautiful import Zon's. cheers Neil.
 18. i know it's a different model but i very recently bought a Cort C4H in almost as new condition for £175.00 it's a fooking ace bass,sounds & plays very nicely,hell it's even got a wenge neck.
 19. don't f*** about matey just buy it,you know it makes sense
 20.
I'm still lost for words every time you post Andy... I'll say again that you have the patience of a Saint!
+1 i'd have flown over there & pounded the door down.
 21. cheers for the kind comments guys (especially about the duvet cover ) after a couple of days ownership i still absolutley love this bass to death & it actually sounds & plays even better than it looks believe it or not. anyone in the Harrogate area i really reccomend going to Bass Gear & having a go on one of the standard range of Zons, they are miles better than anything else in their price range.
 22.
So I've already commented on the Zon thread but just spotted this here as well - it really does look lovely. I must get back up to Harrogate to take a look at the others - that Legacy Standard looks seriously nice too!
indeed it is, it's bloody lovely & is the bass i actually went to see but i prefer the slimmer neck on the Sonus.
 23.
<sigh> Mid Nov and still no sign of my Hyperbass. <deeper sigh> this bass was ordered on 10/9/2009 ...and was estimated to ship by 30/5/2010 <deepest sigh yet>.
that's a bugger,i feel your pain but i'm shure the wait will be worth it.
 24. cheers guys i'll report back once my bar-on has subsided. Chris2112 i know what you mean about the graphite but please do check them out i think you'll be impressed with them, especially for the price. mine has the best wood neck i have ever played,it just feels so right.
 25. thanks for the kind words chaps i can't rave about this bass enough its a bloody steal for the price. now added to Zon porn thread too. cheers.
