1. thanks chaps Hutton - sorry but i'm not too keen on the shape of your Gibson IV,i'm shure it's a lovely bass just not for me. thanks anyway. but as for those mega posh Mike Lull T'birds, they are awesome & i bet they cost a fortune. want one.
2. thanks for the replies chaps sounds like it'll do exactly what i am wanting all i need to do now is find someone who wants to swap their's for my jazz. cheers.
3. bump for added pics
4. i'm a long time fender jazz fan but i find myself becomming a tad bored with them & it's time for a change. i've had a SG bass & loved it,but sold it a while ago--silly boy,i liked its powerful sound too. every time i play a jazz i end up cutting the tone on the bass & boosting the low end on my amp (& always have done) to get the sound i want but never get there. we are a blues band with vocal/drums/1 guitar/bass/ so i need a nice full punchy sound to fill the gaps in so i'm wondering if a T'bird wil give me this,i'm pretty certain it will. i'm probably going to have to mail order one so won't get chance to play it first-which is a bugger but hey ho-or i may just get another SG as i know that will do what i want,i just fancy something different. so any T'bird players what do you reckon & do you want my jazz ? cheers Neil
5.
Any pics mate Also do you have a cash price in mind??
hi Chris,i'll put some photos up tomorrow when we've had some daymurk,er i mean daylight rest assured though it is in as new nick,or as new as a relic can be. i'd rather do a swap for a gibson to be honest but is nothing comes up i may sell it. i paid a fair few quid for it so around £700.00 i'd think. cheers
6. although i love my Jazz to bits i find myself needing a much darker/thicker sounding bass so i thought i would see if any of you guys has anything you fancy trading for my Jazzer. a while ago i sold my SG bass on here & how i now wish i'd kept it,hindsight is a wonderful thing eh ? i've never played a thunder bird before but fancy something a wee bit different so they are a very strong possibility. so if anyone is interested please let me know. cheers. oh almost forgot the Jazzer is a peach & plays like a dream + sounds exactly like a good jazz should. come with a nice setup & the deluxe Fender gigbag it came with. cheers again. if i decide to sell this for cash price would be £650 firm.
7. if only i was a tad richer that'd be mine
8. anybody tried Ernie Ball flats ? i absolutley love them,a set of group iv flats on a jazz bass & i'm a very happy man. they are good for slapping too.
9. oh 'eck that nice
10. what a piece of sh*te
11. hang on to the Jaguar mate(if you've still got it that is)you know you want too,you can keep it at my house if you like
12. i owned one of these & a Gibson SG bass (both at the same time) & the Epi' was just as good a bass as the Gibson & was just as well made--but £600 cheaper
13.
Yeah, the looks............. Cheers. Does anyone know a good place to get a Black pick guard, and what model to look for?
if it was me i'd just get a genuine Fender black/white/black one,at least you know it will fit.
14. ROADWORN you know you want too
15. now sold & gone to it's new daddy thanks for all the interest chaps.
16. cheers Tom,nice to have met you at last & a damn fine bass you've bought too.which i'm missing a tad now but my new motorcycle more than makes up for that luck after yourself mate & keep playing that precision.
17. met Tom yesterday when he drove from the other end of the country to pick up my (now his) RW Precision bass. lovely bloke, damn fine player & a great conversationalist too. even my dog (Jake) enjoyed meeting him. take care Tom & enjoy that lovely bass.
18. i play through a Roland D-bass 210 which has a fantastic built in compressor btw. higly recommended amp'. with my jazz bass i usually run it 1/2 way up & had it at 3/4 when i had a stingray. i find it evens out any peeks & tightens up the bottom nicely but any more than 1/2 way up kills some of the harmonics of my wonderfull RW Jazz.
19.
I'm going to shelve the idea for a while. The RW is a nice bass, but I've confirmed with Fender UK and USA that it's exactly the same as the MIM 60s bass, except the appearance. The extra cash is for the relic/paint. All parts are Mexican including the pickups. That's not knocking em, but I'm going to think about it a little more.
i strongly disagree with with this, having owned a 60's classic & a RW,they may be made out of some of the same parts but it's how they are put together that makes the difference. the 60's classic just feels, plays & sounds like any modern poly finished jazz bass whereas the RW feels, plays & sounds like an old vintage well played jazz bass--THEY ARE WORLDS APPART .

23.
Indeed - If Artisan's Precision is anywhere near as good as your Jazz, you're definitely onto a winner!
Indeed it is as i also have a fiesta red roadworn jazz which is a keeper for shure & the precision is just a good a bass.
24.

go on Tom,you know you want it i can meet you in Thirsk on sunday again on a serious note,it really is a belter & a damn site cheaper than buying new & it's only a few weeks old too.
