  1. Can't believe it took till half way down the third page to mention them! Tight as a gnat's chuff, whether you like their music or not
  2. Thanks a lot for the quick response! One more annoying question (sorry!) - what is the fingerboard radius?
  3. Is it passive? What are the controls - looks like a stack pot nearest the bridge... And could you measure the string spacing for me please? Looks a little tight for my fat fingers...
  4. Having tried a few, I am coming to the conclusion that bass multi-effects units are great in theory, but just too complex for my limited brain! I only ever use the chorus and compression on them, and I have a decent tuner already.... So if anyone can make better use of this, it is priced to sell. It has a phenomenal range of features, but I just don't need them, or have the time (or interest) to explore them... Boxed, with user manual and all cables. Excellent condition. Recently bought from BC member hestan (whose photos I have shamelessly recycled!), and hardly used. Located in North Tyneside. Local delivery is possible for petrol money, and postage is available at buyer's expense and risk. Happy to look at trades for separate chorus and compressor pedals.
  5. What an odd bridge! What's the string spacing please?
  6. As with a lot of things on here, my preference differs from the accepted norms... I really like Ernie Ball Medium picks - especially the yellow ones, which are easy to find if dropped on a dark stage! I like their "resilient flexibility" - particularly as I play quite hard. To be fair, I came across them by accident as I once found one on the floor in a rehearsal studio, tried it, and found that it suited me. Try as many as you can!
  7. So much bass for so little money! Insane price 😎
  8. Oh, I know exactly what these can do! I just don't have the cash at the moment....
  9. Fantastic basses these, and outstanding value for money! I already have one, which is why i am not snapping this one up
  10. I had one of these and they are fantastic! If only I could find an equivalent five string version for a silly price like this one!
  11. PM incoming...
  12. Geddy Lee has a '59 in his collection (and featured in his Big Beautiful book of Bass!). It is indeed a one-off and is also in Olympic white. It may even have been the inspiration for this Custom Shop model? It is certainly a gorgeous bass, and I am not normally a massive fan of P basses!
  13. Crikey! In that price bracket there is a lot of very serious competition... that seems a lot of money
  14. Beautiful! It always surprises me that more P basses don't have matching headstocks, it really suits them IMO
  15. An awesome cab, and I wish I hadn't needed to sell it, as I would have it back in a heartbeat if finances allowed (particularly as another one has become available locally - what a stack they would make!). Forget everything you thought you knew about 1x15" cabs, as this one re-writes the textbook. Light, powerful, articulate, and bloody good-looking too!
  16. Just seen this thread. Great song and great band. And as others have said, killer bass tone too Copy of CD ordered
  17. Just bought a Line 6 Bass Pod from Johnny. A lovely lad who lives in one of the most beautiful locations in Britain! Unit was exactly as described too, so all good and highly recommended
  18. Aha! So that's how he causes such iconic wear patterns on his tw@tty Foderas!
  19. More to the point, how is the word actually spelled?! Relic'd? Relic-ed? Relicced? Using the word garlic as an example, there are references to something tasting "garlicky". So maybe the correct spelling should be "relicked" - but that conjours up images of an ice cream that has been licked by more than one person... Maybe the hyphen is all-important? I dunno. I do over-thing things sometimes
  20. I actually clicked on that, assuming it to be one of Skank's fabrications. Jesus, you couldn't make that stuff up!
  21. I reckon a Jazz on the neck pickup sounds reasonably like a P (especially in a band mix). Others deny this and think I'm daft. i don't care. Can a P bass do what a J does? No. Which is the better bass to own if you only own one? The J I would say... Hides behind the sofa....
