  1. £/€740 is a little too much really, I'd probably be looking at around £1,000 once I've paid for delivery and customs. £550 was my ballpark figure. Thanks for looking though bud, much appreciated 😁👍🏻
  2. Roughly £500 depending on condition, which I don't think is *too* much more than the BEX-4 and still a good price among good acoustic and hollow body basses. For me, I don't mind the controls really. I guess the blue light might be a bit odd for an active bass and might stick out more than I'd like but I could live with that 😅 Trying to hunt one down is my problem, they were either really good that no one is letting go or they were limited and never made it over here. I think if it was bad, they'd be for sale a lot more often.
  3. Hey guys, I've been on the prowl for this bass for quite a while now, the Yamaha BEX-BS Billy Sheehan, and only seems to be something that only exists in his dvd and rarely online. I've fancied it for a while as I'm after something more acoustic/hollow body in sound to take on for a few home recordings, some versatility compared to plugging in an electric at open mic nights with friends but this definitely ticks boxes for me. I've seen and tried a few models of acoustics and hollow bodies over the past few years from working in a guitar store or whilst going elsewhere to try whatever I can get my hands on, nothing seems to really hit the spot, often than not being cheap or short scale, resulting in quite a 'muddy' tone for the quite rich and taught sound I'd imagine for an acoustic bass. Anyway, I'm coming to the end of my tether now thinking they've been sucked into a big black hole and forgotten about and thought I'd make a last attempt just to see if anyone else has seen much of this rare creature or knows of anyone who has one to try or to buy 😉 You'll know the thing when you see it, even online most pictures tend to be pretty dated too...
  4. Welcome to BassChat 😁
  5. Beautiful little bass, shame for the scale length but got an idea of what to get when I win the lottery 😂👍🏻 GLWTS
  6. Very nice! Not your typical looking lakland bass 😁👍🏻
  7. Yes, that's a Thunderbird pickup. Nothing new really and I think the coil tapping has been used before... Could be wrong but nothing ground shattering from Gibson for basses. Still the old 3 pin bridges too, should be left in the 70's haha. In regards to the use of rosewood, pretty sure it's an industry standard now that they're posted with a CITES certificate OR they're using a different strand of the rosewood like Pau ferro or laurel (?). As for the Gibson site, I too can only see those models available but I'm sure it will soon be updated as I don't think the Epiphone site has been updated with models either.
  8. Another member of the BB brigade, sorry 🤣 you seriously can't go wrong with one of these. They punch far above their weight for the price and the 1025x going is a beauty.
  9. Fantastic job you've done there. Looks great 😁 What are friends for, if not for free basses? 😉👌🏻
  10. Beautiful story and I'm so happy for you mahn! Such a pretty bass too 😁
  11. @AndyTravisvery nice, hoping you like the BBP34/5 so I could potentially perk this off you when you sell up 😜🤣
  12. Stew, if I ever head down that way on a little break, it would be fab to see you, hear your band and have a noodle on this beaut of a bass 😉🍻 top man! I'd love to age this bass though, get some nice "road warn" feel to it and have a great bass, at a great price and like yourself, my next go to instrument. I just love a precision bass. What sort of stuff do you play and what's your setup?
  13. Great little basses I believe... I've said in another topic how I'd favour this over a Pino 😂 For me personally, I'd go without the covers but that's just me. If they don't get in the way, go for it.... Just make us a video as I'd love to see more of this bass and how it sounds and plays, as I am tempted myself by one😁👍🏻
  14. Great sounding bass and a great funky little bassist for it too... Would I buy it? For a price between £2,000-£3,000... Can't say I could justify it. £1600 and I might take a bite. However, a passive Musicman is great news.. @Cuzzie I might have to put those Sandberg's on hold brother 😂😂😂
  15. Welcome to the forum and I hope you stay for more than FX 😉
  16. Loving this bass, fanciest BB I've seen in a long time and well maintained for its age but... The bolt on the tuner, does it actually affect the function of it? Despite being a bolt, it has the same length and threading as the screws? 😅
  17. Bring back the Little Bastard or the CTM15 😂👌🏻
  18. Ashdown just tend to making a flop with anything that isn't an amp..
  19. Thought for a moment they started you off young 😂 bless her, she's going to be the next Ida Nielsen then? 😉👌🏻 Yeah, heavier strings will get you some nice low end rumble without your strings slacking too much and the sound of floppy strings being picked up. I'm sure as you come to upgrade you'll notice the difference with other basses and downtuning, especially going for 35" or multiscale basses. Pbass all the way though, I started off on a Westfield and loved it, can't go wrong and hope you and little Grace keep up the good work!
  20. Really nice bass, played this many times when I worked in Dawson's and wish I had the money and space for it.
  21. Great little amps and cabs, especially if you dig the ampegs and valve amps. Got myself a CTM100 and 4x10 on the way, can't have too many amps or the Mrs will kill me 😂
  22. White kid though? If so, I swear he moved to Chester and hasn't changed. Only, he's "off on tour to America next week" looking for an acoustic that comes with a hardcase 😂😂😂
  23. Cat approves? How are you getting on with a 6 string? What are you mainly playing on it? Looking to get one myself soon, perhaps not an Ibanez but a 6'er of sorts 😁
  24. Some good names there 😂👌🏻 does bring back memories of when I did name my own but sadly not in the recent years have I named any... Largely due to selling most I had and seemed pointless building an unnecessary attachment to them.
