1. Great bass. I have 2 ACG's. My 5er has a p-retro fitted. The build quality of these basses is fab. They sound incredible too.
2. Didn't know about this either. Hopefully I can get along.

Moffat Bass Bash 7

What's the etiquette regarding trying other folk basses Do we seek out the owner for permission or do we trust each other enough not to damage the kit and just go for it?

Is it looking like some of us will be sharing rooms or is there enough rooms for us all?
5. Yep, I'd go for one if they come in pin head size.

Moffat Bass Bash 7

Hi Alan, are there any more weekend tickets available?
7. All my basses have had a pro set up and the differences made have been enormous. The guy who does it knows exactly what I like and they are so much easier to play when they're set up properly. I'd get a set up done first.
8. Tascam GB-10 bass trainer for me. Great piece of kit for practising without disturbing the household.
9. I'vebeen using a Tascam GB-10 for about 2 years. It's great for covert practice and allows you to slow down tracks while maintaining pitch. Not very cheap though. I think I paid £130 and the power plug was £15.
10. I used to use light gauge strings. When I switched to using a heavier gauge it felt very strange but time will get you past the feeling. Now I much prefer the heavier gauge. It doesn't take long to adjust.
11.
I change strings every gig. I hate "old " strings. I hear a difference after a few hours of playing . I use rounds , but find flats also " go off" after a short period of playing
I dread to ask what that costs you. I flinch at the price of decent strings. Probably why I now never change them, lol!
12. Many years ago I changed strings every month to keep the "zing". Then I started using DR's which were twice the price of the Rotos I used at the time so I changed every 2 months. Now I never change them. If the bass gets set up then I'll put new strings on but other than that they're on til they break.
13. The logistics of lugging an 8x10 around are too much for me. I have 2 1x12's. Much easier to transport.
14. I've got a JM4 and I'm very impressed with it. I've found the build quality to be excellent. I've never had any issues with it and I love the sound. It is very heavy though. I don't think I'll ever part with it and would have no hesitation buying another one.
15. You'll love that bass. I've got a JM4 and it's fantastic to play and sounds great.
16. Is the GEB-7 still for sale?

18. Bought a Hipshot BT1 from Andrew. Great comms and it arrived day after payment cleared. Deal with confidence.
19. Saw Dan Reed on Sunday with Karl Sweeney standing in on bass, just wondering if Karl's a BC'er. He's 20 years old, from Liverpool and an excellent player. if you read this Karl well done on some mighty fine playing. Your solo was outstanding.
20. I've sat all my bass exams on a guitar amp supplied by rockschool. The sound of the last one was particularly appalling. Next time I'm taking my own.
