1.
Quireboys?
Dave Boyce has got the Quireboys position. Combined with Matt Goom on drums they're sounding really good now.
2. It's retailing at $499 on Aguilar's website which equates to about £325.
3. To the OP. Go for it and give it all you've got. You'll regret for the rest of your life if you don't. You'll learn transfereable skills which you can apply to other aspects of learning or utilise on the job market. My wife's degree is in History but she is a fully qualified Chartered Management Accountant. She utilises skills she learned at Uni and says she does not regret studying History and wouldn't change it if she could. One of my workmates has a music degree and is a former session musician. He didn't make loads of cash but had a ball trying! He took the decision to change career simply because he wanted a change. Another workmate played drums for The Exploited. He's not a millionaire but describes it as the best time of his life, and he did make cash from it.
4.
That would be hell. I wanted a job that got me out and about, giving me something different every day and a chance to use my loaf. Add to that good prospects for promotion and sideways transfers, so if I get bored of doing one thing I can go and do another. No, I wouldn't be signing up to look at a computer screen for thirty years unless they paid me a great sum!
Police Officer I assume? 35 years is the standard for new recruits now. What's your service bracket if I'm correct? Which Force?
5. Having seen Jennifer play her 6er I can categorically state she has no problems playing it. I however, have bigger hands than her and can't play mine to save myself!!!
6. I've got 6. All different. (at least that's what's I tell the wife to justify having them!). A 6er, 5er, fretless 4 jazz, fretted 4 jazz, PJ Ibanez and an electro-acoustic.
7.
I managed 90 seconds of that video ... the last 89 of those were a struggle.
I only managed 53s!

9. Bought a 6 string bass from Dave. Really nice guy who was a pleasure to deal with. Deal with confidence
10. Bought Rob's Sandberg JM4. Very straight forward deal with no problems. Deal with confidence with Rob.
11. I've also never been a fan of Fender, I did buy a Mexican P and Mexican Jazz to see if I was missing anything. The P was a lovely tone and I think it was a good example of a Mex as I've been told QC varies wildly however I sold both to buy a Lakland 55-01 and I'm glad I did. Neither bass really did it for me. I like the look of Jazz basses so I've bought Rob89's Sandberg JM4 and I'm led to believe it's better than Fender going by the reviews. I'd say you don't have to go Fender for that P sound but if you must I'd go for a Japanese example.
12. I've never sold anything on BC but I have bought a few basses, cabs, effects etc and have only had positive experiences. I've always had good communication with the seller and they have happily answered any questions I've had. I tend to do extensive research of my own to ensure that any potential purchases are suited to me but I've sold basses elsewhere and been asked some really stupid questions however, I answered all of them politely with the hope that this could be a serious buyer. I do feel that anyone who arranges to come and try a bass and then is a no show with no communication is just downright rude and there is no need for that. Please put this one down to experience and realise that the vast majority of BC'ers are great to deal with. It's so unfortunate that you seem to have only had dealings with the worst ones. Chin up, you'll get your basses sold. Sometimes it can just take a little while.
13.
Just offer me first refusal if you end up buying it and need to move it on again
Will do! Don't hold your breath though. I plan on keeping this!
14.
Dammit....Loved the look of this the first time it came around, but couldn't afford it then. Typically, can't afford it now either.....freaking awesome basses!
I couldn't afford it first time round either.
15. Been checking out the Bravewood website, Some seriously special basses on there! I'd never heard of them. Which city is he based in? Pity HJ isn't selling a Jazz, I wouldn't be able to resist. Awesome bass bump!
16.
I did Grade 8 back in 1997 I think. Not sure I could do it now! When do you find out the result?
Results usually arrive about 10 days after the exam. I'm sure you'll have done ok. Let us know how you get on.
17.
Should've said, "Oh dear, I was told that it was a good sounding bass... Got anything that actually sounds good?"
Lol! +1.
18. My 1990 Ibanez SR800LE. I'm the first owner and can't bear to part with it. Too many memories....
19. I've been studying bass with one to one tuition for 14 months, Ill be glad to help if i can.
20. I've been doing Rockschool for a few months now. Today I sat grade 1 and 2. I'm not in a band at the moment and returned to playing after a lengthy break about 14 months ago. I attend regular lessons and as part of these lessons I wanted to learn theory. I chose Rockschool to help structure this learning curve and as a means of self assessment. I think the books are designed to be used alongside a tutor as some of the syallbus isn't well explained. I enjoy it and it gives me a purpose to my playing, makes me practise and makes me play styles I wouldn't normally look at. I do it for the enjoyment and to learn new aspects of playing. Another added bonus is that if, like me, you haven't played in front of anyone for a long time playing in front af an assessor helps to boost confidence and get you used to it again. I'd recommend it. You don't have to sit exams and you can learn a lot about your strong and weak points of playing.
21. It went to a guitarist from the dark lands at the east of the country who wanted to start a wedding band. As with all guitarists bass must have been too hard for him. Last I saw it was for sale on Gumtree.
