  1. Ooh, missed this on my usual classifieds check…..and local-ish……tempted!
  2. Ahh i get you. Yes i know what you mean now. I have the knobs on so that at the middle indent the knob is pointing directly down as i wear the bass. Your answer makes sense now, cheers
  3. My go to strings. Their flats are superb. Their grounds are good but take a little while to even up - the E is initially quite thuddy
  4. but i mean at fully ANTI clockwise the pointer is pointing towards the P pup, as i turn it clockwise i.e towards the J pup it certainly gets beefier and more P-ish. Its not an issue just seems a bit counter intuitive
  5. I have a chrome bridge set and tuners from a Warwick Streamer NT1 that im flogging due to me going for a gold set. All great condition and come with screws. £50 + P&P or can be collected from Bolton
  6. Still working out the controls. From what i can tells its master volume, treble, bass and pan. No push/pull here. Strangely the pan sounds deeper the more clockwise it is and i would assume thats putting more J pickup in so would expect the opposite?
  7. Not as much as the Spector Euro i had but the back is definitely curved. Hard to photo but…
  8. My first ever warwick has arrived. To give a short brief - ive always been a flats/p bass type player but always been in love with the tone Leigh Foxx got live with Blondie playing a spector ns-2. I was lucky enough to pick up a Spector Euro some time back but couldnt bond with the neck. I love that sleek curved glossy black body tho so when this came up well within budget i jumped at it. Definitely needs gold hardware but loving the feel and sound of it! My warwick cherry is popped 👍
  9. Thats almost exactly what happened to mine. All the internal fuse holders were completely broken. In the end, literally just to test it, I actually soldered the fuses to the remains of the holder. Love to hear how you compare this to the SVT 3pro when you get it running
  10. Thread resurrection but just wondered how you are finding the tubepath? I had the 5.1 years ago but it got badly damaged in transit and never really got it working to its full potential but what i did hear sounded great. Reminded me very much of the Mesa Big Block 750 in that it had a very valvey growly tone to it
  11. My favourite series of the Ashdown line up. I regularly gig the smaller 330 head and never wanted for more volume tone. Great amps
  12. Rather than the Fender 7250 i would say the Fender 7150 are smoother. Great fundamental too
  13. They are quite a ‘stiff’ string but i love that as you can dig in without loads of floppy fret noise. Let me know how you get on
  14. I found the dadarrios very sticky and when that wore off they felt quite rough still. Ive had great experience with the Elite's Groundwounds which are the same idea as the daddarios but cheaper and to me better. Failing that if i ever have to use rounds (which i generally hate) i go for Fender 7150's. Had a great fundamental, nice and smooth bit have more 'bite' than the above grounds
  15. Any offers over £500? Needs must in the current economic climate
  16. I had a Euro LX in the same colour scheme (black and gold) a while back and miss it. That bass of yours is a stunner!
  17. All sorted
  18. Just took delivery of one of these and rather randomly I'm struggling to get the chassis out the wooden head case. On first glance it seems there are two bolts on either side of the case that secure the amp inside but having removed these the amp wont budge. Cant see any other obvious security measures I'm missing, the rubber feet screws dont seem long enough to penetrate into the chassis but I'm clearly missing something that is probably very obvious??
  19. Been offered a deal on a head and cab, seller wont split tho.  How in demand would an Ashdown 2x12 cab be??

    1. TheGreek

      If I had more space...

  20. Not sufre it will fit on the kitchen scales but various places online have it quoted as - Weight: 30kg (67 lbs). Certainly not lightweight and i think the wood used on the cabs adds to it but i guess that idea was for this to be a studio amp and not necessarily carted around. The castors certainly help with that!
  21. Ok, i said final price drop but a new axe has caught my eye so to try and get this gone in these hard times id take £600 collected
  22. If i ever have to use rounds i go with Fender 7150, the only rounds for me that have that big fundamental and slightly rolled off top end. decent tension too which i like
