    Anyone recommended an attenuator for the DI on an Orange Bass Terror?  I believe the one i need is -40db to fix the 'Hot DI' isues?

    P.S - as you can see ive fitted a bridge cover. The thumbrocker thumb rest will be removed before sale and will leave no trace as this is a drop in mod. Very sunny here so anything other than the aforementioned dent will sun sun glare. More pics to follow once ive cleared space

    I bought this as a B-Stock item from Guitar Village as i desperately wanted to have a P bass back in my arsenal. However, with slight arthritis in my hands i really do pick up my jazz bass for anything other than a bit of house noodling and as such i want to cash it in to fund a backup jazz I've seen. These are MIM but to vintage specs including slab rosewood fingerboard, alder body, reverse kluson type tuners and threaded saddle bridge. Even the tort guard has a slight celluloid look to it with indentations where the tugbar is a really nice depth to the tort. I've fitted tonerider pickups as i do to all my basses but the originals come with the bass. Ive also whacked on some GHS Precision Flats for the old-school tone. Pics including the dent near the forearm (reason it was B stock) to follow asap. I have since slightly filled the chip with black nail varnish which makes it much less noticeable. For me, my favourite precision colours are the 50's style burst/gold/maple and then this burst/tort/rosewood - just a classic look. Part ex wise/trade wise id consider something valvey - Ashdown Little Bastard/CTM30 or my ideal amp an EBS T90. Bass wise im pretty sorted but i am partial to MIJ fender basses. Sale muchly preferred. No case for this as i use a dual gig bag for my gigs so it would be collection from Bolton or could potentially arrange meets. Pics to follow asap

    For some reason my Gen 1 Barefaced compact doesn't have feet and there are no holes to suggest it ever did. I have thought about adding some as one regular place we play has a laminate floor that doesn't appear to be particularly level and the cab rocks slightly on that surface

    Bought a B stock Vintera II P bass recently in a lovely burst/tort/slab rosewood but after being a Jazz bass player for so long I'm really struggling with the neck. Maybe time to sell and go for a Hama Okomoto P Bass!

Obviously i have concerns it has been returned although it may just have not suited the buyer. From what i can see there is a reasonable tail lift that i would absolutely want more pictures of before travelling to Sheffield to see it fully. Love the colour and the 'mojo' but is there anything else obvious from the photos that i should ask for more in depth pics of before travelling to actually try the bass. This will be (potentially) my first ric being mainly a J and P player so me knowledge here is very limited. Cheers in advance..

    Lacks quite a bit of low end. I know Mark Stroemer or however you spell it who played bass on the track used a modified Boss Blues Driver for a lot of the Hot Fuss album and had that kind of tome on a lot of the songs

    As above, ive always had great experiences with Elites, nice and cheap too. Unfortunately for me there seems to be a current shortage of their flatwounds!

    I know a lot of people look for authentic looking vintage fender pickguards but usually they look for the yellowy red almost lava type tort but would anyone know where i may find something like this? I believe its a 66 P bass but very much a dark red with little yellow or even depth really?

    Tip I had was to undo one of the screws holding the ampeg logo in slightly. Get a towel/cloth round the exposed screw then use some pliers to pull it

    Im very much an old school tone kinda guy - p's and j's via a Origin Bassrig SV and cali76 into an old SVT non pro and always flatwounds. I like a 'just on the edge of an SVT breaking up' kind of thing. I recently purchased a gorgeous 60's Vintera II and loves its vintage spec - slab rosewood board, tall narrow frets, alder body, reverse tuners etc but am finding the pickup slightly lacking. Here come the basschat clichés but I'm not necessarily after thumpy Motown tones but that dry, woody, growly open p bass tone. The kind of thing where when you hit the low notes it goes all guttural and throaty without sounding muddy or woolly. I like the highs to be open but not brittle or harsh and most importantly i want it to be very even across all strings. If i was to give an example of the tone it would be this (i know its not everyones cup of tea)... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZvz14paUHU I suppose its kinda reminiscent of U2 - Where The Streets but with more depth and lows yet never muddy and always open sounding. Im maybe wondering if something more 'boutique' like Lollars would get me closer to my tone goal?

    Local to me, right by the Bolton Wanderers ground. Used them a lot for PC parts and always bang on. Last time I was in they had loads of Hughes and kettner valve amps all nicely lit up on display

    The SVT III is clean with minimal breakup. The SV gives it that valvey grunt as if playing through an all valve SVT and gives much more harmonic content and more breakup

    Squier Mike Dirnt (Green Day) signature bass. A squier has no right to sound this good! Easily the loudest bass i have and kept a £1000 jazz bass in the rack it sounded so good live. Ive been lucky enough to get a nice old Fender P so letting this go. Only mods ive done was adding flat top knobs instead of the cheaper looking dome tops and fitted a thumb rest for comfort. If thats an issue a new guard can be had for not many pennies. Great working bass that is a real looker. Can chuck in a brand new Fender gig bag if needed

    Do have a fan, mines not noisy at all and im guessing its the original fan. Certainly quieter than my previous ABM

    I had one years ago, sold it then spent years looking for another only for one to come up in a local shop. Really nice amps, no gain knob so dont do full on dirt but a very nice open and slightly growly clean SVT tone. Also bomb proof which helps

    Banished to the back room whilst our living room and dining room are redecorated. My number one and number two into a cali76, a Bassrig supervintage, SVT III non pro and an early 15” barefaced compact. Always with flatwounds 👌
