  1. Same experience with the Fullertons. I tried a 58 P bass, I genuinely thought the more recent Classic MIM 50's were better. For me, if you want an original but on a budget, you cant beat the 80's MIJ reissues
  2. Bass Centre Elites. Further confirmed by the slightly too long E string
  3. Putting this up and keeping whichever doesnt sell - this or my spyder. UK made 300w ABM in good working condition but a few crackly pots that need a blast of deoxit or something. Collection would be from Bolton where it can be played/heard/seen. Meet-up possible

  4. Moving this one to fund a pedal ive seen. No box but will be packed very securely along with instruction leaflet. Velcro on bottom but in good working condition. Can be posted in UK within the above price

  5. If the spyder could produce more grit it would be the clear winner and my perfect amp. Even with gain dimed it is still pretty much clean, slight hair to notes but nothing too gritty. The next rabbit hole would different valves help? For now, with the need for grit, the ABM is staying but maaaan, the spyder sounds REALLy good
  6. As an elites flats and Grounds user i can confirm as above. Blue headstock silks and short red bridge silks 👍
  7. I know most consider "vintage" to be 70's and older but this John Deacon-esque 1980 popped up on Bass Bros and has me intrigued (other than the weight). Im currently considering selling all my basses and just having one older P bass, this could be the one potentially. https://bassbros.co.uk/product/1980-fender-precision-bass-2/
  8. So, only one can stay. Let the geeky day of A/Bing commence! So far its clear the ABM is a more versatile amp, it also gets dirtier but the core sound of the Spyder is absolutely brilliant. It almost sounds more like....dont know....bigger and more 3D?
  9. So i picked up an old UK made ABM 300 Evo II (not the one i linked above, i found one for much less).
  10. Definitely played what appeared to be a 70's P bass. As per the previous leaked pics of the rehearsal room his rig was 2 x Fender Super Bassman's via 2 x Fender 8x10's
  11. Good working condition with a few small dents to the metal grill. I have added insulation tape to the internal cage which took away any rattles/buzzes that these things can get. Will chuck in a -40db attenuator for the DI. Comes with the original carry case but this is slightly tatty. Can be heard/seen/tested here in sunny Bolton. Postage within UK should also be possible. Would consider a trade deal for an Ashdown CTM30/Little Bastard
  12. So some leaked pics of the rehearsal room are doing the rounds on social media. Looks like the bass rig is a pair of Fender Super Bassman's with matching 8x10's. No sign of the basses being used yet
  13. Be interested to see what bass gear they use for the reunion. As mentioned here it is pretty much confirmed to be Andy Bell on bass. First time round he was famous for using a black burns bison including several reissues (generally through an Ampeg SVT rig) Later he seemed to switch to a couple of 70's Precisions through a Marshall VBA 400 rig
  14. Lovely sounding Ashdown spyder with its 2 x 12AX7 valve pre amp. Case is a bit tatty but nothing major and amp is fully functional and working. Can be tested and played here in sunny Bolton. **Postage in UK may now be an option ay buyers cost as i have some packing material to hand**

  16. Im almost certain that 66 was on bass direct no too long ago. Quite distinctive wear. Im in love with it! 😍😩
  17. Ive been a long time fan of Toneriders standard P pickups and i do love a traditional woody throaty P sound with flats through some valves. However, recently in my jazz i put some used Wizard 84's in and have been blown away. Yes they are hotter than standard but maintain a vintagey tone and dont go full on mud. For my P,as a cheap option to the thumper, i noticed the Tonerider Duke, slightly less hot which could mean i maintain more of the vintage vibe but add a bit of 'push' to my sound. Has anybody tried both the standard and duke models and could chip on with their thoughts on a comparison of the two? Its a must that i retain that woody thunky sound so definately want to avoid a muddy dark sound
  18. No affiliation but popped in my local crack converters yesterday and saw this. Seems a decent price and they also had an ABM 4x10 for about £70! Missing its volume knob and some of the others did seem like the needed re-attaching properly. Final note is they are advertising it as a 500 but it is in fact a 300. Could be a bargain for someone? https://cashgenerator.co.uk/products/ashdown-evo-ii-500-bass-magnifier-amp-head-500-watts-rms-1000-watts-peak-missing-output-knob
  19. Bump as looking to fund a Hama Okomota p bass
  20. P.S - as you can see ive fitted a bridge cover. The thumbrocker thumb rest will be removed before sale and will leave no trace as this is a drop in mod. Very sunny here so anything other than the aforementioned dent will sun sun glare. More pics to follow once ive cleared space
  21. Very much open to offers now. Need this gone
  22. I have a Hartke VXL up for sale here. Great pedal for the price but i recently went with a more expensive Two Notes revolt
  23. speaking a 'strange' tuners - check out this lovely looking P bass over at Bass Bros! https://bassbros.co.uk/product/1967-fender-precision-bass-3/
