  1. Ive pretty much always played an SVT head. Been through a few cabs from the 410hlf to my current 212AV and always loved that guttsy low mid thump with a hint of growl. However, as the gigs are now starting to come in i find myself once again hating the weight! I think it might finally be time to downsize. Ive never gotten on with class D - to use a well coined Basschat phrase, to me they lack heft. The best non SVT heads ive played were the Mesa BB750 or the older version on the SVT III non pro which are now seemingly rare. Barring in mind the slow market id need to shift the SVT first and would expect maybe £800-£900, possibly enough for a mesa BB750 and certainly more than enough for an SVT III non-pro but was wondering if theres anything else out there similar- valve pre perhaps with a solid state/fet power amp. Suitably old school and with a low mid growl. I play mainly with flats loaded P’s and J’s
  2. My go to P bass pups bought off here for a future project that never materialised (project ended up being a MIJ Jazz). All my P’s have these fitted. Handwound/scatterwound by Alex Pribora in Russia. These get rave reviews and are often compared closely to Lindy Fralins. Price includes UK p&p
  3. Bit scruffy on the paintwork but works immaculately. Not had it long but just not using it as i love my amps sound playing directly into it. Can knock a few quid off if collected, otherwise price includes UK p&p
  4. Brand new unopened set of these great strungs as used by Mani of the Stone Roses. £15 to your UK door

  6. Dont know if this should be in the “effects” section but it is a pedal i guess. Big tank-like build orange tuning pedal from ashdown. The LED’s on this can be seen from space so no worries about outdoor stages or owt. Great condition bar small crack on VU window. Doesnt affect usage in anyway. Can do UK delivery within the asking price if needed
  7. Years ago I had a Mk3 200. It was an absolute beast and is still to this day the ''one that got away''. Ive had numerous Mk4's and to be honest, for bass, they are useless. I bet the 150 sounds lovely with bass
  8. Would consider trade/part-ex for a Boss TU2

  10. SOLD (cant seem to edit the topic on my mobile?)
  11. Probably the best sound ive ever had from a non-alll valve amp. Definitely my next amp once ive had enough of lugging the SVT round

    NPD - Sansamp

Just placed an order on a used Sansamp VT Bass Deluxe that is winging its way to me from the nice folks at Bass Direct. Now, im absolutely NOT a pedal guy. My usual set up is P bass (or sometimes J), flatwounds, Ampeg SVT classic into an Ampeg 212AV. Ive always loved the SVT sound and luckily I get to play the SVT at a decent volume in my band (not full on tube distortion but certainly a tiny bit hairy). What im hoping to achieve with the Sansamp is getting the SVT driven sound with my rig but also using it on backline shared gigs to cop 'my' sound. The plan is to get one preset set up for my P bass, nice grindy but deep tone and another for my J bass - little more growly but still maintaining good low end. Will let you know how i get on oince it lands but in the meantime any hints, tips or input would be greatly appreciated.
  13. Ampeg SVT Tube DI – Becoming pretty rare these badboys now. Bought this as my 2nd one and used it all over lockdown to remotely records tracks with my band. Sounds phenomenal as the numerous internet reviews suggest. This one comes loaded with a vintage Mullard 12AU7 in its belly. Now the diary is filling up I need to switch my concentration from recording back to live gear and as such this needs to go to fund a few live bits n pieces. It will be sorely missed but needs must. Collection from Bolton would be massively preferred and I will of course knock money off for that. Otherwise UK delivery can be included in the price at £300. More detailed pics to follow asap
  14. Bought for a recording session in which it performed admirably but im not an effects guy. On the settings i have on the pic it gave a nice subtle growl with a bit of grit that really responded when i dug in. Im very certain it can also go to the other extreme and be balls out fuzz. £35 delivered in UK or can be collected from Bolton. No power lead supplied but takes standard 9v

  16. Definitely Hotcovers, better quality than Roqsolid and generally cheaper
  17. Strung up the E string and immediately saw they didnt have enough tensions for me. Rest of strings are new/unused. E was cut for a P with plenty of winds. Price includes UK postage
  18. Bit reluctant to post but always happy to try and accommodate meet ups
  19. As something I really want has cropped up ive had to stick this on evilbay. Obviously ill incur fees etc on there so ill put it on here that ill take offers. Will withdraw if the p bass ive seen sells
  20. Stew bought a few sets of flats off me in an effortlessly smooth transaction. No danger here
