1.
Edit: oh and Merton - nice J retro - but stick your neck out and take a pic of it please. I want to see some hardcore graphite please!
Hardcore graphite porn coming up tonight sir
 2.
Tone is to die for - lovely and warm and serious bottom end. I've used this combo live when my old Hartke head was in for repair and it was great.
Yeah, don't let the 8" speakers fool you, the cab is sealed and there is plenty of low end on its own. Coupled with a 1x15 (especially that Trace one) would sound awesome. I use the ultra-rare 4x8 extension cab with mine and can honestly say it would be a cold day in hell before I find a sound I like more. Plus bassbloke is a top, er, bloke to deal with
 3. Oh, sizing. About 63cm tall, 54cm wide and 34cm deep. Did I tell you it's f-ing heavy at 39kg?
 4. I own one of these combos too, absolutely spandulous it is! It's 39kg (mine is 42kg coz of heavier speakers!!) Power is 290W into 4 ohms, so about 150ish into the internal speakers. MOSFET power amp.
 5. That's exactly why I like the V-Type stuff, the basic "flat" (er, all knobs in the middle, hehe) sound is closest to "my" favoured tone and hence easy to shape
 6.
Reading this thread is strangely making me want to dep for a function band. Anyone need a dep for function stuff around Surrey/Hants area?
Possibly! But we don't do Mustang Sally, thank god.
 7.
Is that MB1 & Merton I hear running in...?
Aaargh, only just spotted this thread! Will get pics later tonight
 8.
I'm not going to quote the whole thing, because I just wanted to say, what a great, inspiring post that was!
Aye! And to Bilbo and mcgraham too, cheers for your input
 9.
Insurance will pay out the value of the item for today's price so if you've valued it based on that then don't worry. If you value things at stupid prices then you would get marked as possibly fraudulent. When I worked in home insurance claims a lot of people would be wanting the £2000 that they paid 10 years ago for the tv that now costs £100.
That's cool then, phew
 10.
CAS (cash acquisition syndrome)
This is something I currently have too, to the extent I'm trying to figure out what to sell
 11. I'd echo Stingrayfan's suggestion - go 2nd hand. You can get a more powerful combo so if the time comes for gigging you won't need to upgrade Ashdown MAG combos? Loads of Trace gear would fall into your price range. Peavey...
 12. Ped, with brand new things like my Retroactive I valued it at exactly what I paid. With 2nd hand things I either value at what I paid or what the current market value is if I got a bargain! EDIT: that often means I've valued things at a higher price than I paid. Does that constitue insurance fraud?
 13. I tend to get all flustered, play anything that falls under my fingers and hope no-one notices  Hoping to get some lessons to sort me out, innit
 14. Blue Aran are very good. Appian Acoustics do Celestion and Frank is a good bloke to natter to!
 15. My insurance company has all the serial numbers, as do I. (Except the ones on the Trace gear where the pen has rubbed off )
 16.
I nearly managed to persuade him to hook up a webcam and beam live pics out! That would have been a bit of a hoot.
When I see him after his holiday I will pay him to do exactly that
 17. Welcome! Didn't even realsie Gary Crockett had left JTQ... Do you cross paths with Phil Mulford much?
 18.
So in conclusion the lower tubes are preamp and the highrt tubes are input gain stage of the power amp ? Guys can you tell me in what year was made this amp ? Here is the serial number: T0105.0144 Model: VTYPE-H0 It's made in '95-'98 ?
Might be easier to ask Trace Elliot themselves, there was a dude who used to know the TE serial number system but he's disappeared off the forum a long time ago. Sorry I can't be more use!
 19. You know I'd love to, but I'm more likely to be selling than buying in the next few months
 20.
I might have to sell my V4 soon. Moving house the other day really highlighted how much I don't use it.
Don't say that out loud to me agin. Please. I will be castrated if I even consider it!
 21. Have a look HERE Not sure what the frequencies are but I think they're around 100Hz (bass), 400Hz (mid) or 1kHz (mid shift in) and 5kHz (treble).
 22.
and have a range of basses,
Do you have as many as:
Nick O' Modest
?
