1. Not much annoys me, but when someone says that "Fender is my guitar, they're the best thing I've ever played, and ever will", yet they have never bothered to play any other bass (or guitars alike), it really gets on my nut! If someone genuinly loves Fender for what it is, and have played many other instruments and settled on Fender as their comfortable instrument, then I think it's great because Fender are impacting people in a way that instruments are meant to.
 2.
Hi bass comrades! I have joined this forum primarily to get some advice. I am a 41 year old bassist (I have been playing bass guitar since I was 13 and double bass for about 10 years). I am entirely self taught and pretty nifty on bass guitar - but I need more help on double bass. I am really getting into playing more double bass. As someone who plays in a band where most of our stuff comes out of improvisation - I am now developing a real interest in modal jazz. I live in Kent. Is there anyone out there who can offer 1-2-1 tuition? Thanks in advance.
Hey there my friend, I'm Dan, 16 and have only been playing for 2 years so probably can't give as much advice as I'd receive!! I'm only new to this forum anyway, but welcome nevertheless!! Take care [; Mouthman.
 3. Riiight, I have a Warwick Pro Fet 3.2 and I have a buzzing problem... Not the obvious one of being too close to the amp, But whenever I let go of the strings or anything metallic on the bass that's connected 'together' (bride, tuners...) it buzzes and it really get's on my nerves because when treble is boosted it's very promenant. Any idea's/suggestions? Much appreciated lovely people.
 4. I considered making a bass a few weeks ago, but it turned out to be alot more time consuming than I thought it'd be [; Don't know what that has got to do with this, but meh. XD
 5. Heey there man [; I haven't been here long and I'm enjoying it already. Never played a Tanglewood bass, would be great to try one someday [; Take it easy, Mouthman.
 6.
I quite like it - wouldn't mind an f-hole in there too.
Aayye an f-hole would look the bees knees in that. Saying that, the rather simple look is quite attractive.
 7.
He plays man and uses his mouth. Can't you read (another attempt at the whole 'funny' thing...how'm i doing?)
Ugggh duuuude [; Don't know if funny is the right word to use... I MEAN. Awesome stuff man, awesome.
 8.
You're a hit already! Welcome! What kinda stuff do you play and what gear do you have?
My style of playing is kinda hard to describe, What I've been doing recently is encorporating some jazzy scales and funky arpeggs. into rock playing. Sounding really interesting and great fun to play. Gear? Uggh... Harley Benton 5 string active bass. It's quite terrible to be honest, but for £117 brand new can't really complain [; Warwick Pro Fet 3.2, which is my baby. The most valuble bit of bass equipment I own haha!! And I use two cabs with 15" cones and 3 bass ports [; When I say cabs, they're actually disco speakers Very surprisingly great sound considering they're unbranded and, well, speakers for disco [;
 9.
Run away while you still can... I only joined a few months ago but have already bought a bass from a fellow 'chatter and am seriously GASsing about another... must hold out... Basschat – good for the soul, bad for the wallet. Or to put it another way... welcome
Hahaha thanks man XD I got nothing in my wallet to loose ^^
 10.
To me they always sounded like amps where the designers had gone "hmmmm, we make guitar amps that people love, lets just put a bigger speaker in it and remove the second channel... then its a bass amp".
Spot on man, that's how I always saw it.
 11.
Now that's a proper looking cab, makes my Markbass look a bit of a ponce
I remember playing a 4x10 Marshall cab... Didn't like it at all [; But I can't knock the heads until I try it XD
 12.
Welcome, Welsh people make me smile!
Aahaaa thank you muchly sir [; Welsh people make me smile too?
 13.
OK, not strictly on topic, but I had a Marshall 115 cab and so regret selling it. My Precision sounded sooooo sweet with a TE driving that cab. No other cab I tried came close to the tone. Sold it for £50 to 'upgrade' to a better cab...... Chris
Ooh sweet. I'm not against giving them a try [; It's just what I've tried I don't like... xD
 14.
Marshall bass amps (combos and the rest) are on my nightmare kitshare list. If I turn up to a gig and see a Marshall my spirits sink. Through most amps I sound like driving an SUV through the window of Harrods. Through a Marshall I sound like a sheep trapped inside another sheep.
Finally someone who doesn't grab a Marshall amp, because it says Marshall on it [; Only messing [; But seriously, I find them to sound cheap...
 15. Right, okay, I'm not sure if it's just me, but I really can't stand the combo's Marshall do :/ I shouldn't really be doing this, as I've only played 3, but I really don't like the sound of them. The MB4210 in particular. No matter what I plug into it, it sounds horrible. From the cheapest of basses, to a Fender Jazz. Is it just me? Or are there others of you which don't like with the same passion as I XD
