1.
So in conclusion the lower tubes are preamp and the highrt tubes are input gain stage of the power amp ? Guys can you tell me in what year was made this amp ? Here is the serial number: T0105.0144 Model: VTYPE-H0 It's made in '95-'98 ?
Might be easier to ask Trace Elliot themselves, there was a dude who used to know the TE serial number system but he's disappeared off the forum a long time ago. Sorry I can't be more use!
  2. You know I'd love to, but I'm more likely to be selling than buying in the next few months
  3.
I might have to sell my V4 soon. Moving house the other day really highlighted how much I don't use it.
Don't say that out loud to me agin. Please. I will be castrated if I even consider it!
  4. Have a look HERE Not sure what the frequencies are but I think they're around 100Hz (bass), 400Hz (mid) or 1kHz (mid shift in) and 5kHz (treble).
  5.
and have a range of basses,
Do you have as many as:
Nick O' Modest
?
  6. Circa 1995-1998 the V-Types had 2 pramp valves as per Catalin's and my amps. 1998/99 Trace brought out the revised V-Type range which was the new V4 head and combos and the V8, boht of which have far more complex valve preamps which are entirely different beasties from the Bassman-inspired earlier range. EDIT: both early and late ranges had a V4 head, hence the confusion which Ped and OBBM were alluding to!
  7.
Cheers Mert! I think I have GAS for a single P, passive, headless, with black hardware and walnut body Smartbass!
Go on, you know you want to!
  8. I believe all Status basses come with cases
  9.
Hi , How many units is it? Thanks
Hello! No idea - it doesn't have a rack in it. I guess you could fit one and fit 2 or 3 units in. My TE head was 2U high but that excluded the wooden sleeve, so I reckon 3U is a good bet.
Hey Mert! Will it take my AH400SMX, with the UV? I can't remember whether yours had UV in it? If it will fit.. whack it in the post now!!
Sadly I doubt it will fit, the head I had was a fair bit smaller than your 400SMX. Sorry dude!
  10. Flightcasewarehouse.co.uk flightcase, made in 2006 for my Trace AH300-12 head, which I haven't owned for almost a year... Internal Dimensions H14 x D37 x W48cm In pretty good nick really, it's sat in a cupboard unused for about 18 months, since I took the head out of it and used the case as a cunning space-waster. Brand new it was £160, I'm looking for (2009 edit) £35+shipping ono. Pics:

Thanks guys! Mike, twas a pleasure, sorry I was kinda in a hurry - turned out our drummer didn't turn up for another hour so was no need to panic... Enjoy the cab
  12. Welcome! Get some pics of your custom bass up in the Bass Porn section You must be one of the few people who owns/uses a Carlsboro Delta head too - very select gear all round eh?
  13.
My first wedding gig last night... 1) Arranged with groom to be there at 6pm to give us enough time to set up and sound check - Hotel wouldn't let us in the room till 6:45, did sound check playing 1st number "Aint no snshine" 2) Told by hotel droid that we would have to set up between these two fire doors but not to encroach on egress of doors - 5 piece band on 15ft x 10ft patch of carpet 3) Timings are just a joke at weddings 4) Endless trail of drunken wazzacks trying to ask us to play really sh*t songs while we are still playing These are just a few of the minor irritations we encountered, I can see why we charge a lot more for weddings and parties now
Yup, sounds about right! Hope it went OK other than that?
  14.
But being the weirdo that i am, I prefer the 5 string one on the left But then I always fancied the brunnette in ABBA more than the blonde..
Yeah, weirdo! It's ok, I'll polish the Groove and bring that too, just for you

  16.
Good man - got any photos of said bass please to whet appetite?
Of course, only too happy to show it off! (EDIT - apologies for the crappy phone pics!) Looks even cooler with the DR Black Beauty strings on it... Not got a decent pic of that at the mo tho.
  17.
Yeah yeah... don't rub it in... Sorry Mert - someone on here was talking about playing your graphite necked bass and wanting to mod a SR, so I got confused. Could you bring your Status though pls?
No worries! Possibly the_house123 (or Mike as he's more commonly known by his parents and friends!) was saying something coz he tried it out on Tuesday when he bought my Trace cab? Tis my pride and joy - the Retroactive J. That will definitely be there
  18.
Merton - can you bring your Stingray with the graphite neck please?
Don't own such a bass I'm afraid OBBM does tho
  19. Perfect! Mike contacted me about my Trace 1x15 cab and had arrived at my flat to buy it about 3 hours later, that's fast! Lovely chap and a good player too (Mike - Buy a Status, buy a Status, buy a Status)
  20.
But yeah, my mum and dad are the types that like to leave the plastic wrap on to make sure something doesn't get scratched. Didn't work on the kettle when the plastic wrap melted onto the sides of it though...
My gf's dad does that with their remote controls for TV/Sky/DVD etc
  21.
CK - how come you're leaving your band??
See here
