1. A minor and D minor are the same as C major and F major respectively, starting on different notes... After F major, let's look at Bb major: Bb C D Eb F G A Bb and then G minor: G A Bb C D Eb F G So keep going up in fourths (er, one string up from previous note, same fret) in the major key to get to the next major key. Same for the minor keys. EDIT - dlloyd got there first! EDIT 2: and explained it better
 2. If you can stretch to it I reckon THIS is a good little rig! (I know I know, I have one so I'm very biased etc, but it's a damn fine sound and suprisingly versatile for such a simple little thing).
 3.
F and C are the only notes that can't be flattened. E and B are the only notes that can't be sharpened. Note for all pedants: I know!!!
4.
Looks like I can probably make it and it's no problem at all to bring the cab and V8.
Hooray! Ta
 5. I regret selling my MIM Jazz 5. Well, no I don't, I regret not taking out the J-Retro when I sold it. Fool! Hopefully I won't regret selling anything ever again but at some point I suspect a bass or two, plus a rig will have to go (Actually, one bass will definitely go depending on when I can afford the Streamline 5er and when Nik can persuade Mrs Silver Fox to allow a Groove into the home!)
 6.
EDIT: Here's the other one... The amp weighs the cab down.
So glad you posted that, it's made my day to see a V8 again. Need ot see one in the flesh still... Are you able to make the SE Bash and if so can this come along too?
 7. Have you had any interest in this? Surprised if not, it's a cracking (if bloody heavy!) combo - addition of castors is a must IMO. Have a free bump
 8.
What you consider to be a fair price?
If it helps I sold one on here in November for £275, it was a slightly earlier model (1999) with carpet covering and a fully functioning EL panel (albeit a replacement from a combo rather than specifically the AH300 version!).
 9. Bump. THIS is the exact model of amp it was designed for - take the feet and handle off and it's a perfick fit. Someone buy both
 10.
I'm down for a 5 string Streamline!!!! Woo hoo
Sweeeet. I really want to have one but can't afford it til next year at least
 11.
*Throws* another £1 coin at Merton towards his Streamline 5 fund!
That makes £3.52 so far - any more donations?
 12.
Mmm....
Hell yeah. Two please
 13.
As I said guys, I tried to keep it simple! If you want more theory then do what I did 35 years ago and go to college or what appears to happen nowdays spend your life surfing the interblog :brow:
Alex's first rule is even simpler But yes, your analogy with a bit of added input from Alex makes sense to anyone who needs to know
 14.
But it's not a single night, is it, if it's an "established venue". I'm 100% on the side of the neighbours here - it's the venue who are being selfish, by not caring about their neighbours as long as they are getting their payment. Well done the neighbours for getting the restrictions imposed. More people should complain more often.
...and ruin countless other venues for wedding bands to play at. Good idea!
 15.
OK, the Amp can be seen like a car engine in that it supplies power, and your speaker like the clutch brakes and tyres delivering the power to the road. If you put a bigger engine in it will work, but your clutch will fail much quicker if you use all the power and the tyres and brakes will fade and you will be replacing parts much sooner than you would like! If the speakers are the same ohms ie 8ohms and 8ohms = 4ohms then the power, (watts) will be divided equally, so if your Amp says 500watts at 4ohms your lowest speaker should be rated greater than 250watts.
Hmmm. Alex Clabers first rule: You can use any power ouput amp with any power handling cab. If any of these combinations makes bad sounds then turn down and/or stop cranking the bass EQ excessively or damage may occur
 16.
now sold to out t play jazz pending deal going down on thursday.
I KNEW Rich would buy it, he can't resist anything from Colchester!!

 18. More likely a power supply cap or dodgy power supply in the room you're in, it sounds very similar to somehting I experienced with my 4x8 combo a few months ago - turned out to be dodgy room electrics in the rehearsal room I was in.

 20.
I am astonished that any of this matters to anyone.
In the past I got a bit annoyed but refrained form posting, thesedays I agree wholeheartedly with Ped and your comment - it really shouldn't matter at all!
 21. Prob in the wrong forum, but pedantry aside... ... no idea! I know they did an AH600SM, is the 1200SM is 2x600W power amps in stereo? I bet it's bloody loud!

 24.
Someone on this server has one of the last Groove bodies & that one actually came out of the factory with a graphite neck. Sounds like quite a special instrument!
And someone else has the last "real" wooden necked Groove too. Me! Yesyes yes, pics still missing
 25.
EDIT: Are you bringing any of these to the bash?
Yeah, go on
