1. Cracking cab, good price! (I sold one for the same a couple of months back...) Good luck
 2.
if you wernt building me the little 1x8, id be very tempted by that 4x8...
You still may want this depending on how the 1x8 turns out!!
Oh godamnit will someone please buy my Stingray so I can have this!
Trace GAS, sir? Forgot to say, it isn't currently going to the SE Bass Bash but that is as good a place as any for swapping heavy green stuff for papery green stuff
 3.
lol the title says £500, your post says £525, which is it to be?
Arseburgers. £500 Whoops - edit time!
 4. Crap pic: (better ones to follow!) We're talking the combo on the left, not the cab on the right. V-Type preamp, 290W RMS (@ 4 ohm) MOSFET power amp. This is the best Trace amp I've ever used, the sound is slightly rounder and softer than the 1x15 version of this combo. I'm keeping the 1x15 as it's lighter and an earlier version with 250W BiPolar Bear power board. I added castors to the combo (they really are needed, this is 42kg!) and recently had four new Celestion speakers put in. Approx 180W into the internal speakers. SOLD *Earthing fix: the standard design has the preamp board AC-coupled to ground and this is a mass production fix which seems a bit, well, dumb. It's easier, cheaper, and quieter to have it DC-coupled, so that's what Steve did. It's made it quieter, and more importantly it no longer picks up power supply noise like an FM radio....
 5. This looks very cool. If I was in a position to buy I probably would. Must resist, must sell stuff instead!
 6.
I bought this head just over a year ago and to be honest I've only used it a couple of times so It's time to offload it. Only used a couple of times in the space of a year. It's in okay condition, not mind but not ruined either. I can get pictures up tonight. Thanks
Hi Rhys, Got any price idea, model number, wattage etc? Will help with potential interest! Good luck
 7.
any cost for this? Seriously considering going along with my samick 6er and mim p.
Tenner each, money going to basschat and a charity
 8.
Anything from the first 2 Paul Young albums No Parlez,
Oooh yeah. Had the pleasure of seeing Phil Mulford play this one with PY in York about 5/6 years ago. He did an awesome solo in it too
 9.
Doh! - you missed me gear off the options list Oh well. I won't do anything silly. Not just yet anyway. I'd be interested in the idea of having some 'industry standards' there, just so that the tone of a particular cab can be isolated.
D'oh, sorry! I went from the list of attendees and their gear, yours wasn't there?? I'll try to add it... EDIT - cock it, I can't. Erm. B*gger. <thinks>
 10.
No point trying to butter me up now. I'm so hurt, I'm taking it down the dump.
It's joint first anyway at the mo, so put your toys back in the pram
 11.
Can I still bring a trestle table and my car boot sale stuff from the garage?
If I had a fourth vote (short sighted really, I made the poll rules!!) I would've voted your Trace combo joint 4th with Kiwi's V8
 12.
*edit* thinking about it, the rarer rigs mebby, possibly might just be given a Get-Into-Bassbash Free card...? vote for the more standard stuff? feel free to flame away if you disagree!
I think what you're getting at is what I thought after posting, i.e. people with a "one-off" rig can bring it (e.g. Alien's power amp, barefaceBass stuff, the Epifani rig etc) but having 3 Trace rigs and 3 hartke rigs of almost identical nature is a bit, well, dumb and therefore it's those which should be voted "in or "out" in a terrible parody of Big Brother.
 13. Cheers Nik. Yes, feedback on this would be grand. Perhaps I haven't done this poll in the best possible way but it was the best idea we came up with last week! Mert
 14.
Might look/sound a bit strange if you stick a non-matching one in there.
Yup, in the words of Harry Enfield "you don't want to do that"...
 15. SE Bash rigs update, please see HERE. We need to slim down what's coming along or we'll run out of space! More news tomorrow or Weds from Nik regarding the itinerary
 16. We've changed our plan - every rig is welcome, see Nik's post on page 3! Original post: Hi all, We organisers of the SE Bass Bash are thinking that with at least 30 people signed up for the ride and almost as many bass rigs, we're in for a meltdown in noise and room space. Therefore, without being a**holes and saying "you can't bring that", we need to find a way of slimming the rigs down to some interesting ones plus a few standards. So, without being rude, we don't want 5 Hartke rigs, 3 Trace rigs and 4 Markbass rigs. We DO tho, want maybe one of each, especially Alex's barefacedBass cabs, a Shuttle 6.0, some BFM cabs (maybe one Omni 10, one 10.5, one 15?) etc etc. You get the idea. First off, I won't bring my V-Type rig (unless someone wants to buy it, more of which in the relevant forum later). But after that, we need to decide. So the poll is above, please choose three rigs and three only I'm afraid, what are the most interesting things you want to see? The top 10 or so will then be the ones we see at the Bash. Sorry again to be harsh about it but it's the best way we felt of not having more rigs than people, running out of floor space and losing our hearing! Mert EDITOR'S NOTE: apologies to anyone I've missed, I think I've got them all there. Apologies again if anyone feels offended or upset but this is in the interests of everyone having a good day without going mad/deaf etc. I have picked out the three "self-build" rigs as being musts as they have all aroused a lot of interest. We will ahve to look at exactly what BFM cabs are available between Hamster, Clauster and peted so we get a good mix

Steve
B*gger.
 18. I bet the Hartke paper drivers are made by Eminence.
 19. Lots of Pearl Jam tunes: Even Flow Alive Black all quite straightforward "starter" fretless songs. Especially like hte double stopped harmonic slides in Even Flow
 20.
I don't know why left-handed basses and guitars exist. I've never seen a left-handed violin, saxophone, piano, trumpet, etc etc, etc. Alex
I know someone who is convinced she has seen a left-handed piano. If anyone would care to enlighten me and show the world she was right, feel free. But yes, load of old tosh for all the "classical" instruments, innit?
 21.
Anyone else left-handed and plays right
Yup, me. And Mark King. He's quite a good player, you may have heard of him (Only came to light last week he's a leftie tho, see pics of him signing the Retroglide protos on the Status website...)
 22.
1. Sei Jazz 5; too many of these being sold here lately, guess they look great but are too clean and polite sounding unless you play in a jazz-fusion trio? 2. Ashdown amps & cabs; wooly sound, pointless retro design, not easy to get a decent sound out of and definitely a case of 'style over substance'. 4. Bartolini pick-ups; bland, polite & sterile. Definitely massively over-used and over-rated!
Blimey, I don't log in for a couple of days and 12 pages happens... Haven't read it all yet but I'll start with you Nik 1. No idea, never (knowingly) heard one 2. Yep, agree. 3. Nope, loved the Barts I had in my MIM Jazz 5. As for my choice - Ashdown. Now, I will read the 12 pages......
 23.
Friday bump
Any pics yet? Stingrayfan was looking for one of these
 24. That is silly money, someone young and strong should buy this for their first big rig!
 25. Paul is also still overseeing the set-ups etc for Charlie Chandler's Guitar Experience so he can't (yet) focus solely on Wal I guess...
