J-Bass with P-neck? P-Bass with J pup configuration?
Tait replied to solo4652's topic in Bass Guitars
not likely on here. a while ago i was looking for one for ages, not a single one popped up. theres normally one or two on ebay though. -
-
looks like a highway 1 (or one?) to me
-
Good idea. Band: Blank Canvas Myspace: www.myspace.com/theblankcanvasband Area: Nottinghamshire Support (we might be able to stretch to a headliner but our set would be an hour max)
-
shame about the lack of prices, though. wouldnt mind on of those flying v guitar kits.
Think Stingray HH or Warwick $$ or Sandberg I reckon. Sandberg P with a Humbucker...you could not get more phat than that
+1 to the sandberg. i havent played one, but my taitycaster is a P/MM configuration and that sounds "beefy"
doesn't matter if it's aftermarket or not, it's ugly as f***!
i was hoping i wasn't the only one that thought its ugly!
you don't like block inlays?!
im not a huge fan of block inlays. IMO they only look good on an all black fender with maple neck, black binding on the neck and black blocks. i especially hate pearl blocks on maple fingerboards. its just wrong.
I challenge this entry it isn't in a playable condition.
same applies for charic's invisible bass, theres no way you'd be able to find it, then find the strap to put over your shoulders, then find the jack to plug it in, then find your strings etc. and im guessing you're playing an invisible bass with an invisible lead and amp, so that just makes it more complicated. and restringing would be a bugger. anyway, i think charic's making it up. he can't prove that its "Paints cracked, lower horn fell off, slightly burnt and has damp". how do we know its not a mint condition invisible ritter? i think charic should be disqualified, personally .

that humbuckers post is right- a musicman style pickup will beefen* out your sound. *am i allowed to make words up in order to answer his question?
-
damn! didnt realise i could vote more than one! so i voted 4 cos thats my biggest band, but my other 2 bands have 3 members.

perhaps he meant $64? dunno how much they're really worth, so may be wrong?
If it wasn't for that tacky fretboard inlay i'd be rather attracted to that, tidy looking bass there
err... is it a bad thing i didn't notice the inlay till you pointed it out?
What's your budget? If you can stretch to it a second hand Pedulla Buzz would be something to consider £600-1000 depending on condition and desperation of the seller. Otherwise what about the Ibanez Gary Willis GW35?

Hmm.never thought of a pedulla...or even heard one to be honest. But the ones I've seen seem very pricey. The Ibanez looks interesting though.
i've played BidRedX's pedulla, its a lovely bass! i would get one right away if i was looking for a fretless! and theres so many options that you have to find a sound you like.

allparts are supposed to be good, they do necks and bodies don't they? never used them myself though, just heard about them.

J-Bass with P-neck? P-Bass with J pup configuration?
Tait replied to solo4652's topic in Bass Guitars
How about a Squier Vintage Modified P bass, with a J pup added?? Would that work?
they have a jazz neck. -
Aha yes I can't seem to find LPB for sale on the net anywhere, so Halfords is indeed a great idea! Infact I won't be far from one at all tomorrow so I'll take a look to see if I can get a close or even exact match. I definitely think LPB with matching headstock would look great on this one with a white pickguard.
good luck with that, if you can find a good match this should look great
Who has been aggressive? Or has the post been deleted/editted?
i dont think it was aimed at you, you were simply asking why i had this up for sale at £20 cheaper than GAK, which is a fair enough question with a fair enough answer. i think it was aimed at annoying twit, but not really sure. i wasn't offended by what he was saying, but i think the point was that you'd already pointed out one site that had it priced at £169.99 so pointing out another is undermining my sale.
-
Look, tbh i don't care if anyone thinks its overpriced. i've already pointed out plenty of reasons why its worth it, and i really cant be bothered to keep repeating myself. if you dont like it ignore it, it makes no difference to you, and doesnt put people off buying my bass. its my bass and i have every right to sell it for what i want to sell it for, and i think what ive put it up for is a fair price. its not overpriced including the hardcase, and its way below the RRP, and it here, right now, i can go see it and check its still hanging in my room, unlike GAK or thomann who don't have them in stock. and if you go to a music shop you wont find them any cheaper. so thats the last time im saying it. ok?

you can get car sprays for halfords that are a similar colour to lake placid blue, and ice blue mettalic, well, lots of metallic blues (or at least in the halfords near me). i was looking and imagining the other day when i was in there. and i know car sprays are the same as what they use for guitar finishes (or at least - i know you get a good end result when using car sprays, so im guessing thats what they use)

for sale is my ashdown five fifteen amp. i dont know how much this is worth (they're about £120 new, but don't know what they sell for secondhand), so if anyone can tell me that'd be great! im selling cos i dont need something this big just for messing around in my room on, so i'd also consider trades for a similar priced or cheaper + cash practice amp thats quite small. i can get pictures if you like, but its in perfect condition so if you google images ashdown five fifteen you see what you're getting. cheers, Luke. EDIT: price drop - £55 + postage EDIT: only serious buyers please guys, thats twice this was supposed to have sold only for the buyer to not buy.
