    Most of the time when I've fitted ultralites I've had this issue. My solution was to cut a piece of paper to the same width as the bushing , tape one end to it and then wrap it around until it became sufficiently thick to fill the gap. The ultralites use a screw on fitting for the bushing but if you can get enough wraps around it, it should hold or maybe just touch of superglue to hold it in place if it doesn't. Just enough to hold it but that you could also take it back off easily enough if you needed to

    I had a couple of these & the matching 2x15" and they are incredible cabs. 45kgs each if I remember correctly but fit a decent set of wheels are they are a breeze to move around.

    I think that it would depend on what you are currently playing. It looks like a Hofner Club or Jack Casady in your avatar so in that case I would say definitely get something different. My current wedding/function band plays a lot of disco/funk and so far I've used a Rickenbacker, Yamaha BB1025, Stingray 5 string with the ceramic pickup, EBMM Sterling, Fender Player Precision, Gibson EB5, Musicman US SUB5, my Harley Benton Jazz and now my Fender AP Jazz so you can go for something a bit different if it suits your playing. I went for the AP Jazz over the Elite as I prefer passive Jazz basses and my Radial Tonebone is an incredible preamp & DI so didn't need the extra control of the active

    I've just set up my Precision using the exact measurements in the Elixir videos and I'm really surprised at how much more relief I had to add to the neck and how much higher I had to raise the saddles I thought that this method would give me an ultra low, ultra slick setup, and although I am confident that I won't have any fret rattle, it all seems very high relatively speaking

    I think it's pure luck to be honest. Having said that I always use UPS through Interparcel but have had good experience receiving parcels with DPD

    I thought that the Vintera series was made in Mexico as a more traditionally styled instrument when compared to the Player series which has the newer pickups. I am very happy with my modified Harley Benton but chose a US Jazz because out of the 140+ basses I've owned I've never had a US Jazz bass before. There's around £300 of parts on my HB Jazz, all of which I had from various projects over the years. The only thing I did to make the bass better to play was file the edges of the frets. Other than that it's an incredibly well made bass. I had a few of the early VM Jazz basses, both fretted and fretless, and the one thing I didn't like about them was that they felt too light.

    I always wonder when it comes to double necks why the fretless neck is on the bottom. That's the one I'd more likely need to look at during a gig but you'd need to lean right over to see it

    I've had a few but I prefer the look of the precision without the extra pickup. I'm probably going to withdraw the bass when I get back home at the weekend so I'm just giving it until then. If it doesn't sell then I'll keep it until a situation arises where I could use it

    My experience is the opposite. I find TIs dull, lifeless and too low tension. When EQd properly Chromes can be really growly and cut through really well At the end of the day it's only a set of strings and could easily be changed to suit. In fact I have new packets of both Fender and D'Addario nickel strings that I could fit to the bass if the new owner didn't want the Chromes

    Sometimes, especially when it comes to Amazon, it can just be a matter of looking at the right time as their prices can change often. I got 2 sets of the balanced tension daddario EPS300 strings for £16.74 each recently. I picked up a set of the Robert Trujillo Dunlops a few months back for £8

    One more thing: is it really pronounced caypo? I always thought that it was cappo. Or is it a tomayto/tomato thing? 🤔

    This is the first time that I've actually sat down and watched a set up video. I knew how the truss rod and the saddle height affected the action on different parts of the neck but I've never actually measured anything before. This video has prompted me to buy a capo, feeler gauges and a 6" metal ruler to give it a try. There's only one thing that I'm unsure of in this video and one I have posted below: once the truss rod has been adjusted, I would have expected the person in the video to remove the capo, retune and then do it again but their method seems to be once you adjust it like the way they show, that's it. Also both adjust the truss rod under tension, I've read a lot about people loosening the strings first to take the pressure off the neck before making any adjustments.

    The Player Series precision that I am currently selling (for now ) came to me absolutely perfect. I simply made a few adjustments to suit my playing style after fitting a set of Chromes and it was good to go. I've had older MIM basses and they were, to me, poor in terms of fit and finish but this one is impeccible, as was the 2014 FSR Precision Special I had a few years ago. I almost bought a Vintera as they have some cracking colours but decided to treat myself to a new AP Jazz instead.

    I remember when I saw Yes at the Armadillo in Glasgow it was like a competition between Chris Squire and Steve Howe to see who could change their guitars the most during the gig. Despite the number of basses I've owned over the years, for most of my playing career I've only ever taken 1 bass to a gig. It's only more recently that I've taken a second one purely as a back up.

    For anyone interested in this bass I will be away on holiday next week so won't be able to post it during this time. The bass is packed and ready to go so as long as everything was confirmed and paid by early evening on Thursday 3rd October then I could still send it before I go away. There's a very good chance that when I return I will withdraw it as the more I look at the pictures, the more I want to hold onto it despite having no gigging use for it at the moment

    Well now I've gone and done it. I've just ordered a new Fender American professional Jazz bass so first reasonable offer gets it. I'm trying so hard to find a situation where I'd like to use this bass in so until I do it's still for sale but could be withdrawn at any time. If I could justify it I'd have this displayed on a wall in my living room as it's such a stunning bass
