2.
Playing music is not a competition. There is no best - only music you like and music you don't. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a bit of a loser really.
exactamundo - can you imagine if Sheehan did his widdly stuff on a Sting album? Both play well, both completely different bass players
3. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigation?q=dr+bass+neon looks like they'll be the same or maybe ever slightly cheaper than the colour coated ones
4. explains my previous post http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?p=9754800 looks like they're not released yet
5. just been on Stringbusters - looks like Evergreen and Hot Pink have been discontinued in the colour coated ones
6. Sold! Where do I buy them? I like anything garish and over the top
7. Never tried them but just found this: http://www.pharosparcel.com/QuoteAndBook/QuoteMe £26.39 to deliver my beast of a Trace 2x15" cab (80x80x40, 46kg) - don't really come much bigger unless its a 6 or 8x10"
8. I really don't know why they bother with these things - its all personal taste Like the guitarist ones, its normally Hendrix. Now I don't particularly like Hendrix. I understand how he influenced so many guitarists but I don't like his playing - too scratchy wah wah, do you want to start actually playing something now? Probably annoyed many hendrix fans but i don't care because that is my opinion. Put a poll on here as to what the best amp is just now and I'd bet the TC Rebelhead would come in first with the Markbass head in at 2. Never played either, don't need to cos I'm sorted with my out of fashion heavy GK 700RB II. I think I've made my point
9. If you PM Thornybank I'm sure he still has a Trace and a Peavey 2x15"
10.
Squire VM Jaguar of course!
Ah right, the Squier PJ Jaguar pretender
11. Aye, they managed to get it sorted to have it picked up on Monday. Ah well, what's next?
12. Bass arrived yesterday dirty, scratched and as soon as i tried to adjust the bridge, one of the inserts started coming out. Needless to say the offer of £20 discount wasn't enough as this was clearly the floor model so its going back. Bugger, its really nice as well and I ain't going to be able to find another one.
13. While I have no doubt that this is likely to be a very well made bass having owned a few of the VM Jazzes, I don't get it. The Fender version has series/parallel switching, active EQ etc whereas this is merely another PJ bass. If Fender had designed this to have Squier produce a cheaper version of the Jaguar with active EQ etc then I could see this being a great bass but as it is, I don't see it adding anything. I'm not normally negative when it comes to these things, it has hotter pickups than standard but that's something that could be changed anyway.

24. Killing Joke - Love Like Blood was a favourite of mine Talk Talk - its my life ( no, not the tampon advertising 90s one) I never really appreciated TFF until I saw Donnie Darko - Mad World and Head over Heels are proper 80s classics Hue & Cry - Labour of Love. I briefly had lessons from James Finnegan, their bass player I'm sure there are more but I'm pissed and the old brain's not working at full capacity Woo Hoo. Party
