1. How did I not remember the Headrush?
2. How did I not remember the Headrush?
3. It's the muff I have at the moment which sounds ace solo'd but just seems to disappear into the guitar mush of my two guitarists. I play in a noisy Sabbath/Rock band and Tony Iommi is killing me tone! Here's hoping the assmaster sorts it out.
4. Let me know, Al. I need to order some lettering so if we can do it together to work our cheaper, maybe?
5. Keep us updated
6. Why not just use a battery clip adaptor and drill a hole? That's what I did to my zvex w/o a DC jack.
7. Good times
8. Damn, I gave myself gas again for a Cafe Walter.
9. I'm going to be needing better pictures if I'm going to part with £8K.
10. Good work, Al
11. Al, what are your stompbox projects?
12. I'm not sure that a noise suppressor is the best answer for the reasons I posted in post #24. I wonder, what are you using the xBSW for? There may be an alternative pedal without the noise issues. Also, it's worth noting that I know of at least two other BC'ers (Higgie and Tayste) who have used xBSW's without noise on a daisy chain connection. There's always the possibility you have a "Friday afternoon special"
13. Thanks for clearing that up, Mottlefeeder. I'd be happier with it uninsured and on a cheaper service (Handled by Royal Fail and their charges!). I know it weighs quite a lot @ 1/2 a kilo, but $50 still seems dear to me.
14. Ok, plug all the pedals up into the chain you intend to use. Then, one at a time take out the power connector of each pedal and see if the hiss goes. Plug it back in and try the next. There's a possibility that one pedal might be inducing noise into one of ther others. (Echo Parks are famous for this for example).
15. I have a pair of Mission 750LE bookshelf style monitors in cherry that you're welcome to for, say £100? I could deliver this weekend, depending on distance.
16. Could I recommend: http://www.beavisaudio.com/techpages/boxinaday.html What are you making? :-)
17.
The ‘Carbon’ has a really quiet circuit and also has a built in gate. I guess you could call the “drive” control the “wool” control
:ph34r::ph34r:
18. Ooh, that's not good. It shouldn't be noisy, although I have some ideas about what might be making it noisy. If you take it out of your chain does the noise go away completely? What power supply are you using?
19. You could cut vinyl pieces and apply. You can print on your computer and varnish/bake over. You could etch the bare aluminium with etchant and an etch mask (this way is bitchen') You could draw it on with a sharpie.
20. I believe so. I'll do some reading and come back to you. Is the noisy pedal this "carbon" one?
21. Yes - give me a min I have an email. Although the £/$ is 1.38 today, which is ****ing awful. EDIT: From BassNW Cafe Walter HA-1A Headphone Practice Amp - $169.00 + $50.00 U.S. Postal Service shipping and handling (fully insured) I've gotta say, we'd be better picking up one from the TB Classifieds, $50 post seems excessive. There's a few for sale there at the moment.
22. Hopefully. We all get enough new stuff to show off often enough.
23. Welcome, Yorkshireite.
24. Phowar. 500 watts in 3lbs and not Markbass!
25. I could definitely play one of those
