1.
We're currently tuned to drop Bb, they are proposing tuning drop C, which will mean either tuning GCGCF (too low) or CGCFA in which case I won't use the A so having small hands I may as well get something I can play better. I'm speccing another bass out with Jon as well! And yes, drop Bb is silly tuning, which is why the guys wanna tune up a bit more. But to add further complications, Chris has started writing with a 7 string
You don't have to tune to the same as the guitars? Why not tune a full step above them? It's suit your instrument better, and you wouldn't really be losing anything, especially with the 5th string
2. Yup, OBBM cables here too.
3.
You asked for it.... My Mk III was one of the last two basses Pete made. It was very special for a number of reasons, not least because I supplied the facings he used (picked up on a ski-ing holiday in Vermont). This is the only spalted maple Wal in the world. *snip* Enjoy!
Don't forget my offer
4. I see you have Rick GAS too, WILD FROG SHOT
5. I think he's getting better with each bass I see
6. I'm sure that I saw these were $1000ish on Musician's Friend.
7. I will be following with interest
8.
I quite fancied the Carbine and the Heartrock...
Infact my emotions have progressed to "slightly cheated." I feel like I've just caught Flanker kissing my girlfriend
9. I quite fancied the Carbine and the Heartrock...
10. What amp, Vince?
11. Big VM fan here
12. We're gaining enough members to stage a W Yorks based coup.
13. Sweet bass Geoff, I can't wait to get mine. I'm practically bursting.
14.
I find the accusation of TB being cliquey quite strange as i find BC to be even more so.
I find it strange that folks here say TB is too religious, considering religious discussion is 100% banned.
15. I like the tracks w/ vocals now, Chris. Sounds ace. I'll keep an eye on your gigs page and come along to one
16. It was just a holiday with my folks and sister. We font get away that often :-). I only went to see Sadowsky, and I only really went there since they're building me a bass. I had the exact street written down and even a little map printed, so it was pretty easy to find. I was only there maybe 40 minutes, but it was very engaging and interesting. They're also all getting ready for NAMM, so it was good to see some of the amazing NAMM instruments being prepared.
17. Well I was at Sadowsky last Monday and it was excellent to meet everyone involved in working on my bass. As a little extra suprise it was back from the finishers and looks fantastic - but numbnuts here forgot a camera
18.
So, just a reminder. If anyone wants to see for themselves how two little cabs can give a Vulcan bomber a run for its money, I'll be using both cabs tonight at Martha's Bar*, Guiseley, with Chainsaw. I may let them go as a pair. Ideally, I'll have a little cab in PX. *This from Leeds Pub Trail Compendium... "Our first bit of good news is that a new pub has already appeared on this run! Or rather, an old one has been reborn. The erstwhile Woolpacks reopened just before Christmas and is now known as Martha’s Alehouse. There are six handpumps on the bar, serving Wells Bombardier, Taylor’s Landlord and Best and a couple of guest beers on our visit. The pub is clean and bright throughout, with the bar in a room just to the right on entering and a homely lounge to the left. Both rooms have tv screens playing music and there’s a small pool room lying across from the bar too."
Shame I was on my holiadys or I would have been there
19. Is this the 750 Watt or 1000 Watt model?
20. Yes, I have been since 2003. It's a fantastic resource and very friendly. A very well run/funded forum too.
21. I'm blown away - that's amazing. Well done.
22. Good luck with the gig, despite being a resident of Baildon, I will be 4000 miles away on the 27th
23. I've played a 6, and know a guy who owns one. He'll make himself known here if he wants you to know It's ace - the B is unbelieveable, although a heavy bass.
24. He'll be here all week, guys.
